Hoping to come out to Arillas 19 August for one week.
Just priced return flight from Doncaster with Thomson
and wait for it £501.98. How can they justify that.
At the beginning of the year I think the price was just over £300
Anyone else flying out from Doncaster.
Two adults at Mathraki studios with Thomson for one week £1034 self catering.
How can they justify the cost of those flights?
Val x
Sorry that was Manchester. Doncaster is £1116 Val
Flights are almost always cheaper when they have more seats available. Though a friend who travelled to arillas at the same time as us last year was able to get a flight 5 weeks prior to travelling for £250 from donny. Flight only is expensive though with the tour operators as they would rather sell you a package. We're flying from donny this year but only because we booked a package for the first time in years.
What T/Os fly out of Donny and what day as its not too far from us ,we normally fly from LBA as its only 3miles away but as we saved nigh on £400 we reluctantly fly out from Manchester this year a Monday morning 07:05 flight .
Tony
Take off time is 9am and landing back into Doncaster is 3.45pm on Fridays.
The airport is only 35 minutes from where I live, which is really convenient,
but cannot see how they can justify that price.
Think I will keep an eye on their website in the hope that the price might
just come down.
Thomas cook have had some good prices for the akti Sharon. I like to go independent but this year the flights have been more expensive than packages!! Good luck hope you find a bargain.
Hi - this is my first time on the forum, but this year will be our 3rd year in a row in Arillas.
We live near to Doncaster airport too and always managed to get really good deals, but not tried flight-only - we've always got a package with Thomsons
The last two years, we have stayed at Kaloudis, this year we are booked into the Mathraki - arriving 20 May.
Total cost is just over £800 for two weeks self-catering for 2 adults - we booked it last October.
Welcome to the forum annec! :)
Thanks very much. We are getting very excited at the thought of being back in Arillas very very soon.
Welcome to the forum annec, will see you at the Mathraki !!
we arrive the evening of 30th May.
You will love it there, nice and quiet but still only 2mins from the centre of things, and run by a very nice family.
Looking forward to meeting you
Valnbill
Thanks very much valnbill.
Do you know if the Mathraki have a book-swap shelf? I always read loads on holiday, usually bring along 8 books but often read more than that. I like to leave my books behind. The book shelf at Kaloudis is fabulous, so I could always pop up there if there isn't one at Mathraki.
Cheers!
Hi Anne
The Mathraki certainly do have a book swap book case at the bottom of the stairs where your departure times and other info are located ,my wife also called Anne says there is a good choice with plenty of books
Tony
It's more of a book wall than a bookcase, but you can swap books in many places.
This year I will be doing something new, I am taking a Kindle E reader instead of a half suitcase of books, it can hold over 3 thousand books (have 60 odd on) so I shall have more room for clothes and shoes,he-he.

Val,
Angie and I also have kindle's, it will certainly save on the packing. I may be allowed two pairs of shorts and three t-shirts this year!
V
Well, you and Bill will have similar holiday wardrobes then Vaughan, although I do allow him a pair of long pants in case of the odd chilly evening.

Thanks everyone. I've not been converted to a Kindle yet - I review a lot of books for publishers and have a massive 'to be read' pile so can't justify the expense!
Choosing which books to take on holiday is one of my favourite parts of preparing!!
