glenda and I have just had to renew ours, you can renew it on line,it was very easy (you will need your old card for the number), one thing we did not realise is that they now charge you to renew your card.

I renewed my card in January and there was no charge for me either via the NHS website.

If you have any queries you can contact them ehicenquiries@ppa.nhs.uk or call them on enquiry line on 0845 605 0707.

There is NO charge when you renew through NHS website the charges are made by companies who renew your card for you through the NHS website, there has been quite a bit of publicity about these sites being listed first on the web pages. They pay a lot of money for this but also make a lot from unsuspecting people. Be aware..

Thanx folks. In my drunken stupor last night I was assuming it would cost £100 by 2014, when ours expires, and said so on the dreaded FB. I could be forgiven, having to pay nearly that for my new passport, and all the other stuff going on just now with cuts, inflation, pay freezes, OFSTED....

Just get me home to Arillas and my bench. I might just cope then.

Does anyone know if your card can be renewed if it has a month left on it? Thought I might as well do it now via the free link while it was fresh in my mind.

I thought this thread was such a coincidence as we only noticed last week that our cards are due to run out in April.  I went into the post office yesterday and was given a number to ring, but found this before I got round to ringing.

So well done Jill and everyone anyway, as I have just managed to renew on line.

So Gary, the answer to your question would appear to be yes, as our application seems to have worked ok, and we had a month left too.
