Title: Ryanair - A first.
Post by: Eileen on January 29, 2011, 12:02:56 PM
Well at least it's a start and maybe an indicator of more to come.

Ryanair has launched it's first UK-Greece route.  Flights starting on April 13th will run three times per week from London Stansted - Thessaloniki.

You are really on the ball with flights news Eileen. I suppose it has to be good for Greece that new flights are being scheduled. Maybe winter flights to Corfu, next?

Terry mate, they are gorgeous. Dilly Keane (spelling might be wrong) is the leader. We have seen them live here in Strode Theatre several times. And always come away laughing at their take on everything. They would take us Arilliacs to the cleaners. You and I would be pilloried. The rest of the forum would see us in another light.

Maybe we shoud persuade them to play in the Nut. Everyone would leave with a red face but they espouse most of the values that Arilliacs do.

Our friend Liz takes this to heart. Me? I'm a bit too old fashioned to wear sequins.
Kalinichta Terry and Helen. So sad we won't see you again in 2011.

Phil

Well it seems Ryanair lost 10 million euros in the last quarter....maybe that's why they are looking for new routes. Never flown with them and have to confess I have heard only bad things about the airline.

That's it Sandy - Michael O'Leary understands that there's no such thing as bad publicity so he comes out with all his nonsense ideas to grab the headlines.

I've flown with Ryanair lots of times and don't notice any difference between them, EJ or a package flight operator.  Ryanair frequently have sales where there are a certain number of seats for under £10 with no taxes etc.  I've flown many times from our local airport to Spain for £10 return.

Wouldn't it be just perfect if they flew to Corfu...or given Ryanair's policy of flying into smaller regional airports Ioannina would do!

Me too! I have a friend who travels all around Europe for business weekly and she cannot stress enough of how bad Ryan Air is. I know they are cheap but with them you really only get what you pay for.

Obviously I've been very lucky  - I'll keep using them until my luck runs out :-)
