Title: Easyjet Fares
Post by: Pat&Annette on October 29, 2010, 06:58:01 PM
Anyone notice how quickly the Easyjet fares increase.
Booked at 9am today and friend just rang to say that same flights on same dates gone up by £30 this ava!!
Thats inflation!!

I think it's because they only offer a limited number of seats at a certain price....when those have gone, you go up into the next band. When I booked yesterday, it kept saying there were only 3 seats left at under £40. Maybe that isn't just a scam to get you to buy.....

Looks like prices are about to rise with the newly increased Advanced Passenger Duty
Heres a link to the Guardians report

We always book as soon as they release the flights.
For our Easter trip £570 for 2 adults & 2 children.
This has now gone up to £1001...blimey!!
But on the other hand for our summer flight booked early with Jet2 in November, and the price was £1013, checked just over a month & a half later and it went down to £843.
Wont book early with Jet2 again.
Hope everyone has or gets a good deal.

Andy.

We booked for July 2011 the day after release, when they had already gone up by £30 each from the day before. Just now they are up by over £100 from what we paid in total. Always book early with EJ.

I know this isn't Easyjet.... but we booked Kaloudis in May with Thomson and for two weeks, including in flight meals and transfers it's costing us £758.  If we were to book now it would cost is £1098!!!  And I bet Billy doesn't get any extra

I understand the comment that EJ only allocate a small number of seats at the very low fares when they first announce the schedules ( and we always book as soon as they do as I have noticed that they even go up during that first day)  I am also told, but I don't know how true it is, that they have some sophisticated software that records the number of enquiries or price checks on each flight so that they can even up the prices as soon as interest is shown rather than just on actual bookings.  This might explain why I have gone online at 8:30 in the mornig to check a price and dates , phoned home to agree dates with Ann and then gone back online only to see they have gone up by twenty pounds or so within half an hour.

This seems to be true of most large company sites that that get enquiry hits JohnJ. Has anyone noticed that if you have been looking at certain sites your home page will then  often display adverts for that company. Not a coincident perhaps.

Same here kev. Todays prices would have stopped us coming home in July. All but double....

wish we overlapped this year - we still owe you a drink and would love to pay that debt in person.

Our E/J flights Sept/Oct have gone up from £269 (inc any credit card charges - not sure of this) to £373 plus credit card charges.....

The moral of the story is to book early whenever possible.

It looks like the days of last minute booking have gone
