Hi folks,
Im looking for some advice/assistance.
My 21yr old son and fiancee are in Arillas (Dionyssus 11 or Rainbow?) until 11th Oct, but finding it a bit quieter than expected. They NOT looking for banging discos or anything like that, but somewhere to go and have a couple of drinks and have a bit of banter and bustle going on.....any suggestions? they probably just not discovered the right place yet.
And what with the rain and the fact that they just had their engagement party on Sat night, they feeling a bit deflated and sorry for themselves.....so IF you see Liam and Emma, say hello and show them the bars to go to lol! (ps tell them I said theyve to buy you a drink too!)
Thanks in advance, Liam
I've never been there myself, but I've heard that Sidari
is quite lively and preffered by younger people.

Thanks Connie,
I'll try texting them and suggest Sidari. I'll also check how far away it is from Arillas.
:)

The liveliest will be Malibu or Coconut bars. Expect they have found them already - in truth they can also be quieter at this time of year. There will be a big group of forum members in Rainbow tonight according to the posts and doubtless much hilarity. And they are already there....
Connie (sunflower) is right that Sidari will be livelier. Getting there probably means a taxi ride which maybe Jimmy or Spiros can organise for them.
Hope this helps
Phil
Brilliant Phil,
I had already suggested that the Rainbow may be lively, so hopefully they pop in tonight if theres something going on. Will also pass on about the Malibu and Coconut bars.
.....what a handy thing this Forum! Well done to you all!
Liam
You're very welcome Liam,
and you will find that forum members are very helpful in any
way you may need. Lots of us didn't know eachother in person
to begin with but we have become friends through this forum.

Or go and see george at the creperie or marinos at the horizon or spiros at Thalassa
they are all cool guys who will advise where they can get a bit more night life :-)
Its that time of year when things are slowing down and maybe an older age group around but that said some of those there now will welcome your son and fiancee tell them to say Dads just posted on the forum and way to go

Hi Liam,
I had a similar problem when I went with my 21 year old daughter, we went at the beginning of September and it was very, very quiet then! We also had rain so she was slightly bored and fed up!
We booked a trip to Sidari on the Friday, it cost 6 euros each and we were picked up by the Coconut at 4.00 pm. There were only four people going on the trip so they took us in a car! It was one of the days it poured down so it wasn't that busy but there are plenty of different bars to visit. If it's nice they could go the beach for a couple of hours.
Normal pick up time is about 10 pm but if they were having a good time, I'm sure a taxi back wouldn't be too expensive - not sure on this one so someone else may be able to advise.
Or they could book for the trip to Corfu town - that will have everything they might want.
Hope it picks up for them!
we had a night out in sidari when we were there last year.......only because we fancied a chinese and the one in arillas had closed down so we made a night of it.
well when i say night what i mean is we went to the travel agents across from the coconut and they had a bus put on to sidari...it wasnt expensive but think there was only one time and pickup back but there was a few more bars and disco's
although we had a great time and it was a bit more lively we still preferred arillas for its friendly and quiet atmosphere..x
hope they have a good hol whatever they find to do.x
Never been to San Stef. at night but it lookes as though it might have some night life. And once again all the traders "We" have met there are so friendly. And if you are a bit more able than me, it is only a short stumble across the cliff face.
or off it to an early death.... Controversial I'm sorry, but I advise walkers to San Stef to follow the road up past Mathraki and Anna(studios) Christos and then turn left down to San Stefanos. Or up past Kaloudis from the other end. Forget the Donkey track.
Sory folks.
Phil
...particularly in the dark after a few beverages....
Hello blithe spirit Sandy luvver. So agree with you. Won't be laughing if someone falls off.
Luvver, just enjoy your little while at home next week. Jen and me will see it out this year. And sadly miss yous again. But so what. We already know what we know, and what we say. Have a great time
love from Phil and Jen
You know I will for sure. Can't wait.....four more sleeps.....
I Think the term is Certified ))
But certified as WHAT I don't know.
oops wrong thread.
What i should have said was:-
Absolutely agree
As an off roader the most dangerous thing you can do is actually drive off road without walking it first. That small puddle can be 8ft deep. And a flat field can have a 5ft hole in it. So be careful out there. Safe walking is not as easy as it sounds.
This whole thread is like Arillas. It's all full of views, attitudes and all are passionate about the wrong thing. Everyone agrees, but still misundersands the issue, and what others say about it.
Village life. Would you have it any other way? Well Jen and me wouldn't.
hi sandy enjoy your hols hope we meet up soon things are moving with us
Great news Isobel...send me a PM and let me know what's happening....
You all speak my language. Arillas, that little place between the upmarket destinations of St George and St Stefanos is actually the best. Well some of us knew this already. Badly kept secret.
The tavernas and the people are the best in Greece. And the Corfiot food is gorgeous. Just go there
I so agree Phil. There are so mnay beautiful parts to Corfu but I never ever have found anywhere that thrills me quite as much as 'our' twinkling sea and a feeling that I am home once I catch a glimpse of that seafront
Got to admit wouldn't go any where other than Coconut and when its quiet we make our own entertainment. Suppose I must be the entertainment when I get texts off Hannah saying its quiet now I am not there and messages on facebook from Yiota saying the same thing ha ha. Well my excuse is the bad influences that lead me astray that sit in Geordie Corner as well lol. Glenda can't wait for next year ha ha
