Hello
Sorry if this subject's been raised before, but can anyone tell me if the tap water's ok to drink in Arillas? I shall be going in a couple of weeks for the first time and am unsure.
Thanks
Steve
i think its okay, it just tastes different to ours, we do drink bottled water, but use tap water to clean teeth and make tea etc.

Same here, bottled water for drinking and tea and tap water is perfectly ok for brushing your teeth.
So there has been couple of moments over the years when people in the village have seen Heidi and I carrying just water with NO alcohol in sight. I hope we didn't loose our reputation ;)
Strewth Erja. You and water somehow doesn't seem right.
There used to be worries about bacteria, but these days the only issue is the hardness. I have always lived in hard water areas, so it doesn't bother me. We usually make coffee with tap water, no ill effects. But bottled water is so cheap we always have plenty. A good tip steve and steve - put one in the freezer compartment overnight. If you have a long day in the sun, the frozen water slowly melts and you have iced water to sip all day.
Truth is, I usually sip cold Mythos all day....

Don't know if it's just a rumour Phil - but I heard that there is a certain amount of water in beer. Shouldn't worry though - I don't think there's very much ! :-)
I haven't been to Arillas for 2 years and have been suffering from withdrawal every day! Tap water is ok but bottled water is better for drinking and is well cheap! I agree tap water for tea, coffee or toothypegs and alcohol for drinking although beer is yuk! bring on the mataxa! Will be carrying out research in August. Can't wait.
Nic
If you haven't been to Arillas for two years you are in for a nice surprise with the Royal Ionian Beer. Its a far away from "yuk" as you can get. Mind you I think YUK would be a good name for a beer.
As for the water we do find that he tap water puts a type of "scum" in the tea pot when brewing so we still use bottled water for our cuppa's
Thanks everyone for your replies it sounds great can't wait to get in the sun and try siome of this famous Mythos! Hope to see some of you in July...
Steve
Geoff, I've heard that one too, but didn't believe it! Still don't really......
Nic, Terry is right. Many hardened Mythos Addicts now drink Royal Ionian, and the "real ale" version is special. Try it at Brouklis.
Phil
ps Steve, you posted while I was doing the above. If you or Steve see us around in July, please come and say yammas....
Ok Phil thanks for that we'll be there from 5-20 July - hope to say hello then..
Best wishes Steve
