Hello all it's been a while but i am returning to corfu this july but will be staying at san stefanos and i have promised myself and my partner to do the walk for san stef to arillas to show her the wonderful place it is.
Could anybody please advise us of the length of walk and how difficult it is to do/find,we are staying at the teresa apartments if this helps at all, many thanks in advance to you kind people ;) oh and we cant wait......
Hello rugbymad! Nice to see you again here in the forum :)
As for the walk to San Stef...I haven't the foggiest but I am sure others will tell you all about it.
I've had a look to see where the Tereza apartments are and it looks like they're on the opposite end of the bay that is next to Arillas?? We usually do the walk to San Stef at least once when staying in Arillas and just enjoy the scenery and chat so don't usually take notice of how long it is. There's always the Gravia bar to stop off at along the route (and probably Niko's as well, assuming it's finished). I reckon probably an hour (max) from the bottom of the headland to the bottom at the other side.
Go for it and enjoy!
Happy holiday

Many thanks we are so looking forward to this trip we cant wait.
If anyone has any other useful ideas or tips for san stefanos itself i would be most grateful.
Be a man and do the donkey track in the mid day sun :-). Maybe not, its a beautiful walk, but long and hot. We did it once trying to find San Stefanos travel to hire a boat, it ws closed so we decided to try and find the boats, missed the harbour and walked to the far end of the beach at San Stefanos before looking back and seeing the harbour. We then walked all the way back to the harbour only to find the boat hire was not there either. By the time we got back to the travel shop it was open and we discovered we could arrange it all from the beach at Arillas. What a day, I can tell you the first 4 Mythos did not touch the sides when we made it back :-)
This year we are heading the other way to

You can walk over to Arillas completely by road or takte the more arduous cliff path.
If going by road, walk along the main street at San Stef and turn laft by the Barras apartments. Follow the road to the top and then the sign down to Arillas. Should take around thirty to forty minutes from the Barras. hill seems steeper coming back out of Arillas somehow.
As an alternative, once you come round the first bends out of San Stef you will see a road on the right leading to the headland. Walk up there and pause for a drink at the Gravia bar before heading down the cliff path to Arillas. Great views from the top.
We didn't walk down the path last year(mid May) as we were told the path was still a bit rough after the winter. hope to do it this year.
Whichever way , it is a lovely walk but probably best avoided at the hottest parts of the day. We walked back to San Stef in 30 plus last year and ot was hard graft!!
San Stef has number of good restaurants, our personal favourites being The Little Prince, Ozzy Oils, Waves, Manthos and for a special occasion in a great location by the beach, the Beachcomber. Several good bars for a drink too.
For excursions, try San Stefanos travel at the end of the main street near the Barras. Good service and much cheaper than the Tour Operators. Noula will do car hire and there is another good hirer in the centre of the village(used twice and excellent) and Arillas car hire is also good by all accounts.
A must local visit is the village of Afionas between Arillas and Agios Georgios, stop for lunch at the Dionysis taverna with stunnig views.
The whole area is truly lovely and if we hadn't found San Stef first, we'd have chosen Arillas without hesitation. For more San Stef info, there is a good local local forum on www.sanstefanos.co.uk
Yammas, Gordon
