Hello all,
We are looking for some advice about taking a 6/7 month old baby with us to Arillas. We have enjoyed holidaying in Arillas for the last two years and are now expecting our first baby. We would desperately like to holiday again before I go back to work from maternity leave. Just wondered where people thought would be the best place to stay with the wee one and whether any of you have taken a child of this age to Arillas with you? From what we have seen it seems extremely family friendly and we would be looking to go in May when it is not too hot.
Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Linsey, Drew and bump.
Hi Linsey. I really think that at that age, it is probably the easiest ever to take them abroad. I did it with my first at around 4 months to see my sister in Majorca. Admittedly he was still mainly breastfeeding so was pretty easy on the food front! The good thing is that when you put them down they stay there unlike in future months! We took our twins at 13 months and stayed at The Kaloudis. It was certainly challenging, ie: 1 crawling one way the other the opposite way and a 4 year old desperate for some attention as well! We found that the little supermarket had everything we needed, including nappies and wipes. I think that as long as you have access to boiling water you will be fine. oooh I love ickle babies! so jealous :-)
Hi Linsey,
Ours was 9 months when we first took her in the September and didn't have any problems what-so-ever. We were however puzzled by the fact that everywhere we went the locals would give us fresh eggs 'for the baby'. Then we saw the price of Pampers and all became clear, lol. ( PM me if anyone needs more detailed explanation!).
Just take lots of high factor suncream/block, sunhats and plenty of nappies.
Have a wonderful time.
Angie
Hello Lindsey,
Our son Spiros was born in December 2007, so from May 2008 as he was 6-7 months old, we started taking him to the beach for EVERY SINGLE DAY all summer long!!
He enjoyed every moment and so did we!
The beach of Arillas is Ideal for babies you only need to beware of the sun! We always use good sun protection and you should n't take your baby to the beach between 12:00 midday and 17:00 as the sun is at it's higher activity.
I have to admit that nappies are more expensive here than other European countries.
Thank god our Spiros is currently learning "the way without them" !!!

Hello everyone,
Thanks for the replies - we are really sad to be missing coming over this summer but it will all be worth it. I think all going well we will definitely be bringing our baby on holiday with us (hopefully their gran and papa as well as I am sure they would love Arillas).
Dimitris, Spiros is so cute and the pictures make me look forward to our holiday even more!
Thanks again
Linsey
Arillas isn't only about middle aged nudists like Sandy x and me. Like Dimitris said, it is an ideal place for young families. Jen and me so wish we had found it earlier and brought our babies there to grow up. Arillas is so baby and family oriented it isn't true. That is a part of why Jen and me love it so much,
