Title: Computerized Dartboard
Post by: Eggy on April 01, 2010, 10:04:59 AM
I have just ordered the latest "gadget" in voice activated microchip technology.

It looks and feels like a normal bristle dart board and comes with a set of tungsten darts in the weight that you are comfortable with throwing.

I'm not to sure how it works, something to do with "magnet activation" between a small mini receiver in the dart linked with all the sections on the dartboard.
Basically, as you line up to throw the dart and bring in to your chin, you say the number you wish to hit. This activates the magnet in that section of the board and, providing your dart is close to that section you will hit what you nominate.
It works on doubles and trebles as well

I'm wondering if some professionals, on TV, use this type of board as they also seem to be talking to theirselves when throwing.

It's made by an electonics firm called T. and W. ADDLE. based in Worcester and you can find details of it on the website/
www.Wot.waddle.com.
Cheers
Negg

Look Neil, the dartboard might be a good idea but you can't throw those spears at it, they are too big.
