Hi
We are a couple in our 40's, just starting to holiday on our own again after kids have grown up! Have come across this site and Arillas sounds almost too good to be true! Looking for recommendations for apartments close to beach and resort centre. Also, would people recommend a package or booking indepenently?
Thanks
Sarah
Hi Sarah
It's not too good to be true. Forum members give a good picture of this quiet and wonderful place. If you want close to the beach there are several choices. My own prefence (stayed there twice & booked for September 2010) is the Kaloudis Holiday Village. The apartments are self-catering and right by the beach. They can be booked through Thomsons. In fact there is a link at the bottom of this page if you click on it you can read all about it.
Have stayed at the Horizon which is very good, but can't be booked as a package - you can do it independently however. In my experience its usually cheaper (especially from regional airports) to book a package.
Look forward to seeing you both in Arillas
Best wishes
Pat
Hello Sarah,
Welcome to the forum! :) Yes, we all love Arillas and have done so for years.
I always book independently but that is just easier for me. You can find all the hotel and apartments info here:
http://www.arillas.com/page/en/accommodation/
And reviews here:

I hope you find something you like :)
Hi Sarah - Arillas was recommended to us some years ago and we didn't visit until 2007. Now you can't keep us away! We've always used Kaloudis - right next to the beach - and we'll be there again in May. However, we've also booked independently for September and staying at Horizon Hotel - again right next to the beach.
It's not too good to be true - Arillas is a lovely, relaxing place and is full of lovely, friendly people.
Give it a whirl! I can promise you'll be back time and time again!

Independent v package can depend on which airport you use....you are likely to pick up better deals on flights from places like Gatwick or Manchester than you will with Cardiff or Bristol..
Welcome to our community. Nowhere is far from anywhere in Arillas. Look at the Maps tab on this website to see where things are.
Arillas is a gorgeous rural village which has grown into a laid back tourist hot-spot visited again and again by those who find it. Relatively undeveloped with the highest building less than 4 storeys, it has an amazing character of its own. Good food is one of the keynotes. Two weeks is not enough time to eat in the many great tavernas, for very reasonable prices. I have put on 10kg (a stone and a half!) in the last two years eating in Arillas.
There are many places to stay right on the beach. Have a look at the map. Kaloudis, Marinaki, Portofino, Marina, Mirage.... Pick one and ask about it on here before you book.
Keep posting, go and enjoy our place and join the club...

hi sarah
we are a couple in our 50's and have traveled to many parts of greece and her islands and i must say arillas has got to be one of the best "resorts" if you can use that word that we have been to.to us its not a resort but a very friendly little town with wonderful people and a very grown up and relaxed atmosphere.we went last year and yes we did have a few hiccups but it has not stopped us from returning this year
