Title: Booked Sept/Oct 2010!
Post by: Janis on February 17, 2010, 10:11:06 PM
After much deliberating we finally booked our flights today through Easyjet from Manchester 27th Sept - 9th October inclusive.
Less than £200 for both of us!
I've emailed various people for accommodation rates but will probably wait until our visit in May to decide

Janis, Horizon is wonderful. Our Marika and Terry would push you to go there because they love it so much. The owners are as lovely hosts as any you wll meet. It is on the seafront, next to Thalassa, Ina's shop and the works. There are many pictures in the Tell Us Your Story thread and many pics by Marika, including her website. We have a very artistic take on the pool, photographed by our lovely Marika on the wall behind me here.

Many sit on the mezzanine deck watching Gravia, sipping (or swallowing!) a drink. Many spend all day there. It is yet another wonderful part of Arillas.

But Mirage is just up the road and Graziella have rooms and apartments. Marina is a bit further down.  Then Marinaki and Kaloudis. Akti is just round the corner. All have pools. Decisions, decisions! And then set back 100m there is Brouklis, Marvel, Rainbow. Then Galini, Elena Stella etc etc and Tria Adelphia.

My advice? Go when it's warm and the music festival is on. Take your tent and camp on the beach.. Save your money for nights in (white satin) in the Coconut. Get pi***d and dance n***d on the beach. Nobody will notice. We've all done it. Wherever I lay my hat, it's my home!!!

lol

Thanks for such a wonderful post, Phil!
We've had lunch often and many evening meals at Horizon and always enjoyed it.

I knew Marika and Terry went (I've seen Marika's signature on all those lovely photos!) and so I've just booked it, about ten minutes ago.

Really excited now! Kaloudis in May, Horizon Sept/Oct so totally different experience.

I like the idea of going when the music festival is on, but "camp on the beach" - moi? Sorry, mate, I like my home comforts!! Sounds a great idea though (if I were younger and fitter, lol)

Oh wow Janis. You must be elated, over the moon. Two weeks fixed in Horizon. Staring out to Gravia, Thalassa a crawling distance away, right on the beach.

There might be thunderstorms, but they are spetacularly exciting. You and Barry will be very happy people. Make sure you don't make little ones - it is well known with Jozef and Maria, Pe Gottero and Liz. They blame the water. Avoid the water...

I will be there on the webcam, on the forum, watching our place every day. Just wish we could buy you both a drink in the Nut!

I'm ecstatic, Phil! Not Barry, though - he doesn't know yet (Thursday night is snooker night...)
We won't be making babies though - we're too old! Will enjoy practising though! (Can I say that on this forum ???)

We'll definitely meet up some day and share a drink or five!

Janis luvver, I've been trimmed or "orchestrated" to quote Mary and Eileen on earlier posts. So will never happen for us!!!!

But one of our family had a baby at age of 56. No in vitro there, totally natural. They loved each other like we do. Yous two had better watch out...... it happens

Hmm, nude sunbathing? Not tried it (yet) although I know many of you who have... (I need to lose several thousand pounds in weight first, lol)
Hope the webcam isn't trained on the top floor balconies, then I might just try it...

Can you see from one balcony to another? Also - can you not see the balconies from the general bar area? I wouldn't want to put anyone off their beer ???

Janis, you absolutely don't need to lose several thousand pounds for nude sunbathing.....maybe for other reasons, but not that! If I can do it, anyone can. It's not about what you look like.....It's how it makes you feel - the freedom and simplicitiy of feeling the warmth on your whole body and what does it matter what anyone else thinks of you....let's face it, not many of us will look like Cheryl Cole. However, you probably should check your location on the Horizon balcony in case it is too public and might offend anyone.....the far end of the beach is another matter.

Lol Janis, top balcony is enclosed, the next room balcony is the same and when you are seated no one from the ground floor can see you, ive sometimes sat from sunrise to sunset with a good book and plenty of supplies just soaking up the sun and watching the world go by from above lol,top balony suits me as im one of those who doesnt like to show too much flesh to the world lol

Hi Janis.  Once you`ve plucked up courage to try the North end, there`s no going back.   We both called each other`s bluff- I will if you will!- now we are hooked.
As for the weight issue- WHO CARES?    It`s about you- not other peoples` perception of you.   We`ve seen all shapes and sizes.  Go for it!

Hi Paul - funnily enough I really rather like the idea of being able to be in the sea with nothing on (I just don't want anyone to see me actually walking in.... lol)

Maybe, some day....

Well said Sandy luvver. Like Paul said it removes the feelings about what others see, it is about you being free. It no longer matters. If it does, you shouldn't be there (but maybe should see your therapist.)

Many in Arillas neither know nor care about us lot at the invisible far end as long as we aren't the type who stalked our Mary.

I have been on naturist beaches all over the place, and have seen just about every shape of naked male and female body there is to see. To be honest I don't really understand why we worry about nudity. When I am cold I am clothed. When I am warm I am naked. But I can't live like that because we have arrived at Queen Victoria's attitudes.

I must shut up now, but believe me Janis, I have sunbathed naked in many places. Arillas is only different because I don't have to struggle and risk my life down a cliff path. It is really healthy to be honest about it all.

Phil

Now here's a little story, Phil - many many years ago when married to my first husband we were in France and visited La Dune du Pilat which allegedly is the highest sand dune in Europe (or was, at that time)
We climbed and climbed right to the top and the view was fantastic.  The warm sun was on my back and it was so lovely and peaceful, no one else around, my ex took the girls down to the beach on the other side and I decided to take my bikini top off and sunbathe topless (I could wear a bikini in those days!)
All of a sudden a whole horde of people appeared and walked riight past me.... it turns out there was an "easy" way up and I was only feet away from the natural pathway.
Ooops!

Janis luvver you have to decide. I'm not donkey kong, Jen isn't Pamela Anderson. It isn't the point. You aren't showing it off. You are simply baring your soul.

I know I sound like a recruitment officer but I'm not. I justknow how we two have lived the last 40 years. It is your choice. But don't imagine anyone is looking at you. Because they have seen it all before. It becomes irrelevant. Painted nails no longer matter. Freedom to be who you are. That is naturism.

Freedom to be who you are. That is naturism
how true phil!
i was very aprehensive the first time on the north beach, but soon realised, no one cared what i looked like!! unlike "normal" beaches where everyone seems to frown on you if you havent got the perfect body in the right swimsuit (which i havent)
so on the north beach you can be perfectly relaxed in your own skin and not worry about what others think, because they're not thinking about you at all, they are doing their own thing................................relaxing in their own skin

I once thought I'd never dare to bare all either, Janis, but that was before I tried it in Arillas.

Ger put it so eloquently, everyone else is doing their own thing.

After my first time 3 years ago, I thought just what Paul  has said, what was the fuss all about?

We are what we are !

If we are looking for everyone's approval before doing what makes us happy we will be waiting a long time.

A life lived in fear is a life half lived. Let's get on with it before it's too late!

Great words, Nan - and thank you all for your comments.
I think I'm one of the great undecided at the moment - no problems with the concept for anyone else, no problems whatsoever with nudity, and I do honestly believe that we are what we are and should be happy with ourselves.
I'm just not happy with myself yet, but good on everyone else who is!

Love to all

Bless you Janis

I think it's ok to be unsure don't worry about that!

You shouldn't feel you have to do anything...... I couldn't go in the sea for years because I felt I was the wrong shape for a costume!!   I STILL  am the wrong shape but what the hell at least I am in the sea not sitting on the beach WANTING to be in the water !!!!!!!

I couldn't bare all either but I am a great believer in doing whatever makes you happy. If you want to do something don't let anyone else's opinion stop you is what I am trying to say.

Enjoy your holidays

Cheers Nan xx
