Unusual white Crab Spider matches his home well
What a fabulous picture. When I first read the title "Sea Daffodil and matching tenant" I was about to ask Jen what a tenant was (assuming it was a posh name for a plant) but silly me.....
Thanks for posting iluvsangeorge.
Dennis, I'm enjoying seeing your marvelous nature photos again...keep them coming. :-)
What about your swallowtail butterfly? Please post it.
Eileenxxx
A beautiful photo Dennis - thank you.
Like Eileen, I too love your nature photos & hope to see more!

Looks like lit-up scene in a West End show. What a lovely sight Tony.
Phil
I noticed Morning glory are everywhere in Corfu i suspect they are treat as a weed .
I've tried growing them over here but with limited success at least mi olive tree is still alive and kicking :-)
What a beautiful photo Tony - nature at it's best. :-)
Eileenx
Intrigued with the name "morning glory." Glorious it is, but is there a special connection with morning?
You only need to open your eyes to see such beautiful things.
Phil
Apparently Phil the flowers of the morning glory are at their best early morning just after sunrise although they do last all day
So you will have to get up early and take a wander with a vodka frappe in hand to view them at their best lol ,to me they look stunning all day
Tony
Tony matey,
QuoteSo you will have to get up early
Well, early for us is 11am as Dimitris will verify. And then the Mythos and Royal Ionian for breakfast. Maybe we should try 6am.... but we'd be beerless!
We both adore the flowers and wildlife in Arillas and all over NW Corfu. What sights you can see. It's all part of it. What a lot there is. Our image is what it is, but like you we are much more than that.
Thanks for posting your gorgeous pictures. And to Dennis. You might not believe it, but they are a gigantic part of my adoration of NW Corfu and Arillas
Phil
Wonderful photos - thank you!
(Phil - I thought the title meant it involved Doctor Who...!)
Eileen
Swallowtail Butterfly specially for you !
These butterflies are annoyingly fast-flying and just zoom past without stopping so it was great when my wife, Pat, spotted this one resting in the garden at Dionysos Restaurant in Afionas.
It seems to have had a hard life aand has lost half its tail.

Phil
Thank you Dennis :-)
Now what could be better than to while away the afternoon in Dionysos sampling it's fare, admiring the views...and seeing such wildlife treats such as this.

These lovely photo's have given me an idea, will take me some time as im no teci (and dont want Pete's help) but I am going to try and make a Arillas flower's page on our website. Will let you all know once its done have sorted out some of my best photo's (not at a professonal level) and so far have 38 different specias. Viv
I'll look forward to seeing them Viv :-)
Have you seen Dennis's superb pages? http://www.agiosgeorgios.co.uk/flowers.htm
Thank you Eileen - what a great website! I'll add it to my Favourites and look at it again when I've a bit more time (working at the moment ???)
It certainly looks very interesting and informative!

Thank you Eileen for the 'plug' about my Nature Corner. I was going to post a request soon anyway.
As explained there the nature pages are intended to cover Afionas, Arillas and San Stef as well as AG, although the site itself is primarily AG....nature doesn't follow our boundaries.
On the site I ask for contributions of observations, comments etc from visitors to the area as my own experiences are limited to short holiday visits. For this I have included a Notebook to receive any observations etc. Unfortunately although it has been posted there since last spring no notes have been added apart from mine.
Let's hope that this season more nature-loving visitors will add their notes for the benefit of others.
Thank you also to the 2 Saras for contributions of flower photos and emails regarding birds of prey.
Dennis
Dennis, we are over early this year. I've never been to Corfu in April before, so hopefully I will come across some flowers & plants that I've never seen before. I must remember to take my camera out with me everyday & try to get some more photos for you.
When you click on Eileen's link everyone, you must also look at Agios Georgios - the home page. Here you will find links to some beautiful photos of the surrounding villages, information about several walks & a page called This & That, which is very interesting, plus loads more.
I promise to contribute to your notebook soon.
Sara
Fantastic photos Dennis and Tony!
