Title: Live plants
Post by: Sara on February 01, 2010, 03:51:26 PM
Does anyone know what the rules & regulations are regarding transportation of live plants? I can't find any information on the Easyjet website about plants & when I try to submit my question, it fails to send.

I would like to take a few Eau de Cologne/mint plants over with me to plant.  [ Mentha x piperita f. citrata ...... they are said to deter wasps & mosquitos ]

Thanks,

Sara

There are no restrictions on the movement of plants across national borders within the EU PROVIDING the plants come from an approved Nursery or grower and are accompanied by a Plant Passport issued by an approved Nursery or grower.

Do a Google search for 'growers with a certification of Plants for Export'.

I've taken over plants without certificates in my hold luggage...naughty but less hassle.

If it deters mosquitoes, can I come up and roll in it once you've planted it, Sara??
It'll save me a lot of bites!  Mind you, your garden will be squashed flat, so that won't do!!
Sorry, only joking!
