Title: Ferry to Corfu
Post by: Ivan on January 18, 2010, 02:18:41 PM
I've travelled with Minoan from Venice to Corfu, also Igoumenitsa and Patras previously. I was pricing for this incoming summer and a car and two with an inside cabin is showing at €730. Ouch!  Has anyone used another route/company or a booking agent who can bring the price down a bit. We have a local agent who can do wonders with the DFDS sailing from Newcastle to Amsterdam. Any suggestions or comments welcome,
                                       Ivan

Ivan I've been pricing Anek (http://web.anek.gr/portal/page/portal/ANEK_prod) for our next trip.  We haven't used them yet but may well do so as I was pleasantly surprised to find they are offering 50% discount for all departures booked before 26/03/2010 on International Routes tickets valid until 10/01/2011.

Eileen, I've priced the same crossings and with discount  the Anek site is coming up with €384 instead of €730 for Minoan ! I owe you a large one when we finally meet,

You're most welcome Ivan.  I'll be very happy to settle for the name of your local DFDS agent who can work wonders on the Newcastle-Amsterdam crossings :-)

We have used that crossing before but the price is a big OUCH.

We have been looking at ferry prices also today superfast sent us an e-mail offering 25% off 2010 prices but did not fancy going from Ancona again. checked Anek and thought 50% was a great deal, as Ivan said 384 euros for cabin for 2 and car return
Had to book!!

Barry.

A tip for anyone booking Minoan lines. You get 20% discount for AA membership, in my case that meant £130, AA membership was £28.

Anyone thinking of driving to Corfu in 2011 should look at Superfast ferries offering 45% discount from Ancona.
Anek lines are offering 30% discount from Venice.
