how can i change my profile photo... i have forgotton how to do it - any ideas please!

First cick profile from top of this page then forum profile information and chose if you are going to upload one of your own or one that is already done for the site click which ever you chose and browse chose which one you want then upload. Hope I have rememberd rightly. Viv

I hope you don't mind me linking back to this post Viv. Hopefully this will still work as I did it quite a long time ago.


There are two ways to get a photo on your profile, but remember that the size of the photo file needs to be small, about 50 - 70 KB

1. Upload from PC
2. Link to Imageshack, photobucket etc

To Upload from PC

To resize photograph download Pixresizer from http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm

Install the software and run it.

The screen will look like this

Go to "Load Picture" and load the picture that you want to use.

Choose the reduction % ie 25% and then click on "Save Picture" - Make a note of where it is saved to.


Go to your profile on the forum and then choose Forum Profile Information. You will then see three options

1. Personalized Picture:

2. I have my own pic:

3. I will upload my own picture: - Use this option

Make sure Option three is marked.

Click on "Browse"

Navigate to where your photo is stored and upload it.

To Link to Imageshack, photobucket etc

Resize the photo as above

Choose...

I have my own pic:
Specify your own avatar by URL. (ex: http://www.mypage.com/mypic.gif)

Go to the website where your photo is stored Photobucket, Imageshack etc

Copy the URL link ie for me it is  http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n179/terrylwarner/tandh.gif

Paste this link into the box by I have my own pic:

This is how mine looks.
