Post by: tracys on September 10, 2009, 07:44:38 PM
Does anyone know how to book a room in the portofino, we have not long come back from arillas, staying at the kaloudis, but couldnt stay there again, loved the place but the beds are like rock, and i dont think my back could take another week there !
Ate quite a few times at the portofino, spiros did say he had a web site, but i cant seem to get on it !
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks.

Portofino phone no 00302663051834.  We have stayed there, rooms super with mosquito screens so you can fall asleep and awaken to the sound of the sea.  I think the web site can be found if you go to the accommodation listings of this site.

I like Portofino!...and the phone no's you have been given are correct to the business card that I have.

Owner, Spiros, spends many hours keeping his studios up to a good standard. They are small but 2 minutes to the beach - ( I can handle that ! )

We always used to stay at Portofino.  Fantastic location, sat many evenings watching the sunsets.  Rooms are basic but very clean.  If you try phoning best to do it early evening as he phones his daughter in New York most nights

We love the Portofino, lovely meals. You can't beat the Brouklis though.

ouzo, Portofino's take on the local dish Stamna is wonderful. My favourite version and I have eaten it everywhere in Arillas. Gorgeous food is one of Arillas' main attractions.  Try Graziella's garlic prawns...

We agree with you - Jen and Phil will be staying at Brouklis next July. Real Corfiot food, cooked by Roula, and eaten by everyone. Superb. And the boss (Dimitris?) always there to keep you in touch.

Portofino, on the sea front, is a lovely place to spend an evening watching the sun set. Good food, good hosts, but Arillas is full of choices like that

We would love to ouzo. Many times? Tell us about it on here. Have you just found the forum?

This is where sad Arilliacs congregate. Truth is we are the clever ones. We know what is worth knowing...

we have returned from our 12th holiday and although we eat at all places our favourite is PORTOFINO lovely food welcoming people and a great cook! sometimes the wait can be long but who cares we are on holiday and good fresh food takes time when the place is busy. we love spiro we are not his customers we are his "friends" and very pleased to be so

Love Porto Fino too. Essential dishes to sample are Grandma's Lamb and Grandpa's Chicken followed by plenty of ouzo and banter with Spiro.
Other lovely meals not to be missed are Kaloudis spit roast pork on a Tuesday (Friday's spit roasted chicken also brill) and of course Efi's Garlic Prawns. Even if you don't love prawns the rice they're served on is lush.

Arillas just as wonderful this year as all the previous years.
