Do these accommodations take direct bookings? I have emailed both of them, but with no reply. I did only email Rainbow on Sunday though, so haven't given Rainbow much time to reply. We have now narrowed it down to one of these, after much perusing on this site.

Tria Adelphia is at the edge of the village (loved by many, quiet, pool, lovely atmosphere, lovely food and as usual, lovely hosts Philip and Helen.) Quiet nights but not that far from anything. Dave and Anne always stay there for those reasons and more. I hope Dave will help you with more experiences of the Tria.
There are many other choices nearby too. The truth is the village of Arillas is not very large by most standards. (Everywhere is a long way for justjen - walking hurts...)
Rainbow is at the centre of a range of acommodation. Right next door is Marvel. Next door to Marvel is Irene's Villa Lux. Wonderful. Dionyssos I and II just behind. All are relatively quiet at night, but many more congregate at Rainbow and socialise. Not loud music though.
Rainbow is about half way between Tria and Brouklis, which is just 200 yards from the beach. Well, actually the walk from Tria is a bit longer to the Rainbow. But again, not that far.

Good choice Maths B, we stayed at Tria a couple of years ago, we booked direct with Philip and Helen and were over the moon with the accommodation. The apts are very modern, clean and a delight to stay in. Like you've been told there will be plenty for the lads to do. The food is delicious, highly recommend the Spit Roast Lamb on sundays. Philip and Helen will make you feel like old friends from day one. They have a teenage son, who is great fun. You wont be disappointed and then you have Arillas as well.

We stayed at the Tria for the last 2 years, but unfortunatley not this year as they are not taking independant bookings just through thomas cook, dont know what next year will bring though seeing Philip when we are there next week.This year we are staying at the nafiska apartments which is part of the rainbow complex so will give gen when back on the 22/9 but cant blame your choices as your tastes seem very much like ours .
Still haven't had contact from either Tria or Rainbow. We are veering towards Nafsika due to location. Unfortunately, I am stuck with either a night flight, or flying from Gatwick on a day flight if I go with a tour operator for the Nafsika. If I could look at an independent booking we could pick up a better flight. We live in the West Midlands! But can't seem to make contact with them at all. I keep checking my spam too!

I took the liberty of seeing Phillipe at Tria yesterday, and took your name from your personal details. I said you were still waiting for an answer. I sat with him and checked all his incoming and he doesn't have anything there he hasn't answered.- Hmmmm!

Equally Rainbow tell me they are up to date now on all replies to their mail.
Both places are willing to rent to independantl travellers.

Have now booked through Thomas Cook to to go the Tria Adelphia in August 2010. Still haven't made contact direct - the price went down a bit with Thomas Cook and we have early flights from Birmingham. so we booked it. Thanks Negg, for all of your efforts - as I say I owe you a drink when we are there.

Just picked up this thread as have been to the mainland of greece . Mathsboffin glad to hear you have booked at the tria and am sure you will enjoy as it is a fantastic place to base yourselves . I am sure that Phil would have got back to you as he and Helen are extremely helpful and lovely people , all I would have added was give him a ring and speak to him , I have just been on the phone and confirmed for May next year . Had to ring again as needed to change apartment as our youngest and her partner are now joining us . So much for children leaving home lol .

LOL slip of the index finger forgot the 'g'. Have probably made this look even worse now! Could someone, anyone and everyone let Spiros and Jimmy know we would like to make a booking with them.
We try not to give them a nude, even after a lot of Mythos..... Maybe don't always succeed at North end of the beach! Jen and me had a big laugh at your slip-of-the-finger.
Greek time is not the same as in the UK thank heaven. Lack of reply can be frustrating, but it doesn't mean NO. Our Greek friends have a better idea of what matters than we do.
With what we've sussed, you won't end up in a tent on the beach if you arrive with no booking at all. If you walked into Rainbow, to find they are full (unlikely) you could go next door to Marvel. Or many others. This year it is a buyer's market. I'm sad to say it, but I know it's true.
Jen and me have often thought of packing our tent, buying a £39.99 flight there and a £29.99 flight back on whatever dates that applied, preferably 6 months later. Camping on the beach and just enjoying the gorgeous place Arillas is. Sadly we've become middle class w*****s who worry about Council Tax and overdrafts and eat fantastic food, get fat and generally rush round wasting it all. Sorry dear, just waxing lyrical....

Have tried to phone the Rainbow today but no success with the number given. Our email address is hansenhome1210@hotmail.co.uk and we are looking for accommodation for 7 of us at the end of August/September. We have travelled many of the Greek islands over the past 20 years and my eldest son who is now 21 and left home wants to join us on a 'family holiday' again. He tried Spain with friends and decided it was not an experience to be repeated. He thought the pictures of Arillas and the Rainbow looked great when we returned last year so I am hoping Spiros and Jimmy can accomodate us!
I'm amazed you are still worrying about booking Rainbow. Quite sure if you arrived without booking at all, with your luggage in hand, you would find somewhere to be in the Rainbow complex or nearby.
But Eggy, please get on the case. I'm sure it is an email address problem. Spiros and Dimitris (Jimmy) always respond.

Hi Phil, If it was just myself and hubby then I would chance just turning up but with there being 7 of us we need to make a firm booking. I will then rest and look forward to my first ice cold glass of Mythos whilst taking in the scent from nearby trees, herbs and greek cuisnine and listening to the incessant noise from cicades. Ah bliss! I do love Greece!
