Hi,can anyone tell us if the royal ionian is stronger than mythos,or is it about the same?Forewarned is forearmed!
Its the same stength as Mythos i like a few bottles of it but prefer mythos another few to try are Mythos red,Alpha and Zorbas
As a very experienced p**s artist, I can comment with confidence. I adore Mythos, it is my favourite beer. Even Stella, my other woman, doesn't compare. 5% alcohol, and very distinctive taste. I had at least two every morning at Brouklis - ask Dimitris! Well, mornings for me started at midday anyway....
Royal Ionian is a much sweeter affair. Just as strong, 5% alcohol, but sophisticated and easier on the palate. Many ardent Mythos drinkers have converted to it (erja darling, you led the charge!!) but I remain a Mythos Addict (and an Arillas Addict)
Phil
Thanks guys!Hubby will be pleased to know that mythos is available in Arillas. We thought maybe they only sold royal ionian.Cheers!
Hi luvver. Go to Brouklis and sample the whole range. Jen swears by the dark real ale, left to degas and warm up for a few minutes until she can't wait any longer. But Dimitri's draught Mythos is for me. I bet it was Royal Ionian and he was having me on.... But I think I can tell the difference. Maybe not after 4 glasses....
Enjoy the beer, enjoy Arillas. Wish we were there...
Phil
Thanks Phil.hubby drinks the lager, wine for me,so any tips on that are welcome.Do they all make their own? Can you recommend the best? Cheers!
sunfun luvver be there on 12th/13th September and try the wine festival. We shared an amazing enjoyable time with PaulC and Di, KevandBev, Blondegirl and Mike and riggers and luvver Sue. Dimitris said to me "Don't worry Phil, you're amongst friends."
The wine was bl***y gorgeous, and I shared one hellova lot of it. We've still got the jugs we bought for 3 euros. And enough wine to drown in...
If hubby likes beer, Arillas will provide it. Mythos is mine, but it never seems to run out wherever you go....

BTW in sober moments, go and eat garlic prawns in Graziella. Watch Gravia and see if it moves. Hasn't yet for us... But we keep going back and waiting.....

I just ADORE Royal Ionian and yes, there has been an occasional charge to the bar when one's beer has finished :D
Royal Ionian is more mellow and gentle on the palate than my first love Mythos. It is less gassy so I can retain my demure female appearance even if a slight burb escapes my lips by accident ::)
Oh Erja, everyone has to burb! If we didn`t, our heads would fly off!
erja luvver we've kept robbie warm for you. If he doesn't get arrested like he was in July he has a big sloppy kiss for you (so he said....) Try Hannah's vodka frappe while you're there. Just ask for a PhilandJen special. Mind you that might turn out to be a Black Russian....
You know we're there with you in spirit. Preferably vodka....
And try all of the Royal Ionian beers - Dimitris will help. Give him our love, along with Litsa and gorgeous little Spiros. justwish we were there then too....
The new Royal Ionian Real Ale is stronger than the lager and pilsner. Its a lovely beer and goes really well with food as its not as gassy as the lagers.
Try it at Brouklis, but be forewarned Sunfun, it is stronger than other beers.
I wish I was there tonight - a very BIG SIGH!!!!!

Thanks a lot Terry.Cheers!
Oooh Terry, that looks tasty - think I will have to have a sample in 3 weeks time! :-)
Timbo, Jen loved it so I justknow you will. Have a great time.
Phil
Cheers Phil! I'm sure I will!
It's a pity our paths (or should I say bars) won't be crossing again this year!! I'm sure they will again in the future!
Take care mate!
Tim
Nikos posted this on Facebook, its a link to an online magazine called "Star Magazine and it has a feature about Royal Ionian. I just wish there was an english version.

Wow thanks for the magazine Terry. I must admit it does look very tempting when that guy was pulling a nice pint from the Vat!! How many gallons in that do you reckon?
The draught pilsner that is to be found at Mathraki Studios is the closest thing to Wrexham Lager (no longer brewed...sob sob) that we have found. It is a big seller at the Mathraki...especially if Barry and I are there.....but Akis and Nick are also partial to a swift half! As they say it's a shame to waste it, don't want it going off in the barrel do they?
I will be there very soon to make sure the goods are up to spec. I love it there![/img]
Cheers Nan
Just posted an extra large pint of Royal Ionian on the Gallery under holiday pictures !!
Best I can do for the moment have a lookie and drool to your heart's content !
XX Nan
We came back from Mathraki three weeks ago, and i'm sorry to say that I drank all of it whilst there.
That is of course, according to my wife, great beer and even better company at the Mathraki, Enjoy.
WELLLLLLLLL Thank you very much Dickie ...... glad you enjoyed my favourite lager !!!
I am sure Akis will have tapped another barrel by now andpleased to hear you did your best to do justice to such a fine brew.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday I am so looking forward to being there
Cheers Nan x
