Hi All,
It's now a week since we got back from Arillas, and don't think we will stop missing it until we go again (asap).
We stayed at the Kaloudis and it was fantastic, that doesn't even come close to describing it actually, but there aren't the words that would !!!!
Before we left, I tried to do my homework of where everything was etc, and so we did know that there was an ATM in Arillas, but to try to make it easy for anyone going for the first time, if you walk along the main street from the sea front and pass the Malibu and Coconut bars, just keep walking up that road and you will find the ATM on the right at Arkokal travel, right next to Vassillis market (Map at http://arillasmap.awardspace.com is a good one). Further up the same road, again on the right, is the medical centre, which hopefully you won't need!!!
While you are on this road, look for and find the Brouklis Taverna, it was honestly the best place we ate, Dimitri is an absolute star and his sister cooks the best food I have ever eaten (if you get the chance to try the "Galaktobouriko" for dessert, which she makes freshly, it is heaven on a plate).
The one thing I forgot to pack, and trust me, I took everything else you could imagine :) was anti-histamine tablets, I did take cream, but if you do get bitten by a mossie as I did (just under the eye!), they are invaluable, as there is no pharmacy in Arillas (I think the nearest is in Sidari). To avoid visiting the "medical centre" which can be quite pricey, I used cold compresses and luckily our neighbours had some anti-histamine tabs. I was also told later that vinegar is an excellent treatment.
If you are reading this, I am jealous already. I cannot wait until we visit again.
Enjoy.
So glad you found what we always do. Thanks for your report.

There are quite a few of us who understand you completely.

Agreed. A mustn't miss.
Good advice on antihistamines etc - as you rightly say no pharmacy.

Music to my ears, glad you enjoyed.

Galaktobouriko? not on a Tuesday
Dimitris has given the last away and you will not have any
your face was a picture when he told you that there was none left.
OK John. This might have been be the disappointment thread. Blasted TerryW got there before I did... he had eaten it all.
Well you lot get yer skates on. Galactoboureko has been confirmed as the new winner of the Turner Prize. Tracey Emin eat your heart out.
Phil
Thanks Jan for the advice about the anti histamine tablets. It never occurred to me to take anything like that but will certainly take some on our next visit to the lovely Arillas (and we're at Kaloudis again)

Hi Janis when are you in Arillas at the Kaloudis. We are there from 11th September for 2 weeks flying out of Doncaster at 0645 am. Hope to be having a large Mythos by 2.30pm Arillas time . Bring it on !!!!
Hi Rothers - unfortunately we're not back again to Arillas until next May (sob, sob!!)
We were at Kaloudis this May for two fantastic weeks and are flying from Manchester on 17th May 2010. I'd have liked to have gone again this year, but finances are not permitting....
Have a super time - I know you will!
