The Sea Breeze Taverna is now open for 2009, Yanni has new kitchen and bar staff serving a range of Greek & English food on the menu. With its excellent prices on food and drinks, its also family friendly and has a fantastic location on the sea front. Its a great place to sit and watch the amazing sunsets with a meal and a drink. Well worth a visit
Hokey-Dokey - we'll give it a try in July!

We've not been before - we always seemed to walk past it on the way to somewhere or other - but will give it a go this time!
great opening night at the sea breeze lastnight with new hosts glen and mel joining janis to make this venue a must for visiting.glen and mel have moved from the efi pool bar in san stefanos where they were very popular and will be greatly missed, but this is arillas`s gain.so the sea breeze is now much improved, very friendly, good food(both greek and english and every thing in between)and at very reasonable prices.last nights buffet was superb and with groucho(real name steve)providing live music via his electric guitar with backing tracks, everyone was up dancing to rock`n roll, etc. even the greeks.so i wish the new team every success.....i live here full time and i`ll certainly be giving them my custom.once again, thanks for a great night from pavlos(real name paul)
Rock n roll in Arillas ?? hmm i think i do enough of that without the music.
Good luck to the Sea Breeze, hope it does really well. Will pop in for a drink.
yammas.
riggers...
Rock'n'roll! I will have to pop in there for a Royal Ionian or two :)
Sounds like it was a great evening!
Every sucess for the season folks :-) I'm sure it will be a popular venue :-)
great food ,new hosts, see you in june .....yammas
Good news about Sea Breeze - we know Glen and Mel from the Efi Pool Bar and I am sure they will make a huge success at Sea Breeze. They always make you very welcome and we look forward to seeing them in June. Also look forward to the rock n roll /blues music - he is really good. Good luck to everyone involved.

sounds good. we stopped eating there as it had gone downhill and the kitchen was filthy, which was a shame as it is in a prime location and around the corner from the bardis where we stay. as much a we like a jive not too sure about the rock and rock if its a regular thing though, could end up as an "english/greek" taverna instead of a traditional greek one.
Thank you Pavlos/Paul! We'll definitely try it. As long as it stays "greek" and doesn't end up as a typical English touristy place it should do well - especially with that great location. And we do like a good bit of music as well - although not every night lol
I agree Janis. Don't want 'Sidari/Kavos' scene in Arillas. Keep the music Greek and 'background' for me. That end of the beach is traditionally quieter.
Yammas,
Martin.
We`ve yet to try the Sea Breaze. Just another thing we have to rectify next month. If we try all the tavernas that we haven`t eaten in, they`ll have to provide a bigger plane to get us home!!!!!! Considering Arillas isn`t that big, what a fabulous choice of tavernas there are.

If the guitarist is the same person we heard in San Steph last year his music is excellent - not rock and roll but plenty of varied guitar "stuff" - not loud - we enjoyed it and we are a couple of old wrinklies!!!!!

I think I may know who you mean.
We run a guitar spares and repairs business ( - sorry about the self-promotion but it
is relevant, promise), and a couple of weeks ago a chap came into our shop wanting an 'emergency' repair to his guitar as he was going abroad in 3 days, for the summer. It turned out that last year he spent 3 months in San Steph and this year he was going back for 5 months, staying somewhere 'on the hill bewtween San Steph and Arillas'.
Needless to say, we managed to do the repair for him and hope to meet up when we're there in the summer.
His name is Keith Mitchell and will be doing live gigs in San Steph and Arillas throughout the summer.
Small world, eh?
Angie
Wow! It certainly IS a small world, Angie! Look forward to hearing him - we both like to listen to "good" music, be it rock and roll, ballads, blues/soul - whatever, and a good guitarist is worth his weight in gold

We do too - I love live music and don't really care what it is.
We've often discussed 'doing the summer' in Arillas and are currently fantacising about setting up a guitar hire business to combat the 'withdrawals' that guitarists get whilst on holiday.
Jam sessions in the Rainbow anyone?
Are you up for that Barry? lol.
Angie
OK WILL GIVE IT A TRY.
DID NOT FANCY IT LAST YEAR BUT WENT THE YEARS PREVIOUS.
ARILLAS 11 WEEKS TODAY CANT WAIT
Angie...I definitely miss caressing my guitar's whilst away on holiday so if you do start in business hiring guitar's I'm your first customer !
Might even earn a few bob patrolling the bar's !
Electric or acoustic, I'm not bovvered !
At one point last year I was eying one of Dimitris bazouki's on the wall in the Brouklis !
I must be some kind of guitar pervert !
Loved this thread. My other half is a guitar addict, everytime I clean out his study it seems another one has been snuck in. He plays and sings folk and blues...and a bit of Chas and Dave too when sufficiently lubricated..lol! Angiem..he could have done with your repair service. A few years ago he went to a works xmas do and was supposed to be home by midnight ..sober! He dissappeared for 24hrs..I was worried sick ringing around hospitals eventually got hold of his boss who told me he was comatose in his spare room. I was so furious about the anguish he had put me through that I...put his fender strat in a vice, sawed off the neck then took an axe to it! I have never been so angry. We laugh about it now...just! x
Georgia....just had 2 minutes silence for the memory of that Strat .....sob.
Cant believe you did that to his Strat... my son would be mortified!
hi folks, forgot to let you know i took my other half, brenda,to the sea breeze last saturday.we both had the special meal, lamb on the spit.i can still taste it now .it was excellent.costa cooked it slowly on the spit for three and half hours and it melted in the mouth.the starter was greek salad followed by the lamb served with fresh local veg(something you dont find in a lot of corfu eating houses.....they think we like frozen mixed veg yuk)and roasted potatos.this was followed by cake and cream....mmmmmmm washed down with local wine and mythos.a very enjoyable meal made even more enjoyable by watching the best sunset in corfu with greek music playing softly in the background as the darkness decends.what more could you want.thanks glen, mel, yanis and costa, the sea breeze is definately now on our "places to reccommend"list.good luck for the summer......Pavlos(paul)
pavlos
a fab report,,looking forward to my 1st lunch on sat 6th june,at the seabreeze.......yammas
Pavios,
I think that after reading your report the sea breeze will be added to the "must visit" list of a lot of forum members. We will certainly eat there in September. Long time to wait but sounds worth while.
Will give it another try.Didnt bother at all last year as it looked so run down.Position is lovely and so is the owner so would love it to do well this year.
Next door to Grazella. Don't forget them - the food is SUPERB. Sea Breeze today, but Grazella TOMORROW! Ask for the Garlic Prawns - and mention PhilandJen. SUPERB!
Yeah Grazella is excellent. We are staying at the Bardis hotel so know them well.June cant come quick enough.Four weeks today!!!

lol. I've just read this to Steve and he too is sat, head in hands, sobbing into his coffee.
I know that if I had done that, it would definately have been the end of a (sometimes) beautiful relationship!! :D
Angiem
you lucky old thing Lisa! wished we were there too... glad the Sea Breeze has picked up... we never ate there last year at all as it was so neglected.
Will be thinking of you and Steve sitting around the pool, slipping down to the Sea Breeze, staggering back up to the pool.... what a life!
I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal any where in arrilas – the food is spot on. However every year I take a wander up to the see breeze to blow the froth of a couple with yanni. And I must admit last year the place was in need of a over haul.
Mind you he hasn't had it easy over the last couple of years what with his grandmother – his dad and his marriage breaking up – and the bloke always has a smile on his face ALWAYS. – Im glad his got it together and will pay him a visit – if you like spaghetti carbornara he makes a cracking one nice and heavy.
Nice one yanni
The only thing we could see wrong with the place was that something had gone wrong with the swimming pool filter and the water was green everything else seemed fine altough a few locals were not very happy about the noise there occupunts were hearing from there at night. The tervena itself was quite busy and I didnt hear any complaints. Viv
