Title: November Weather
Post by: blondegirl on November 08, 2008, 11:31:32 PM
I dont know what the weather is like in Corfu but a friend emailed me from Crete and she says their weather is 30-33 degrees, totally mad for this time of year.  Perhaps they should extend the holiday season as the weather has changed so much.

At least tho, those that live in Arillas can enjoy their quiet time now with some decent weather without having lots of tourists around.  Still wish I was there though as I can hear the rain pouring outside at the moment!

Ha Ha riggers - same here down in the South West. Tipping it out of the heavens. Village fireworks party was over in not very long!

BG I agree - it would be nice to see a bit of an extension to the season. It was 22 degrees there today according to Jen's computer thingy. She follows the temperature in Corfu on screen! And it looked really pleasant on the webcam. Though fair enough - they work so hard all summer and need the break.

Oh wow Marika and Erja. Such brilliant pictures. I was already a bit depressed but now I'm suicidal. Not because of the weather, but because I WANT to be walking along Arillas beach in the storm and I am stuck here in Glastonbury.

riggers has the answer. The new bar in Arillas run by p**s heads for p**s heads would be a great success. P'raps we will buy Whispers and turn it into a shrine to Royal Ionian drinkers. On board Erja luvver???

Love the pictures we are getting ready for some of the white stuff Sunday is supposed to be the favourite.  The first gritters were spotted last night in Chester a tad premature maybe but the Saturday shopping sprees mustn't be jeopardised must they? That would be a disaster.... roll on let's get it over with grumble grumble.

Fancy a jar down the pub Phil?

Bah humbug

I love snow ! - especially on a Sunday.

We get the thermals and sledge out, then an hours sledging, snowball fights and building snowmen. When the toes and fingers are numb with cold, short treck across the fields to the pub , for a couple of pints of Timothy Taylors or Theakstons in front of the open fire and then back home for the roast lamb that's been on a low heat cooking whilst we've been out.

Magical!!

To quote Billy Connelly:

"there's no such thing as bad weather - just wrong clothes."

Cheers luvvers all! We will have to call it something other than whispers. There won't be much whispering going on.... mostly talking inebriated b***ocks!

But this has a serious side - what a fantastic enterprise it would be. Arillas Addicts co-operative right at the centre of the village. Run by luvvers for luvvers. Yes Sandy - retsina and ouzo in double measures for half price or buy one get one free. Eggy would never go anywhere else! We would have TWO dartboards. Any other ideas for such a venue?

lol
Phil

A name for this re-opened "whispers" bar why not Loonies or Liver Rotters. But how would we all get back to our respective appartments after a session with other forum folk...hey wait thats it we could call it  "THE FORUM FOLK INN" or "THE FORUM ARMS"
"THE ROSE AND FORUM"......OK OK I'LL SHUT UP.

How much do you think it would cost to buy Whispers - any ideas?

I would like to see it turned into a family orientated bar, perhaps having a kiddies disco in the back room to keep them entertained, whilst playing 'easy listening' music in the main bar, at a volume level allowing easy conversation (often not possible in the other bars!).

Anne I  had an idea a cpl of years back  family orientated but not with the young discos when I looked into it there were too many complications and costs, we had the concept and the USP and were speaking with one of the islands top business people who embraced the idea, but we didnt go ahead other things happened but I can still keep the dream.

A tornado outbreak produces 4 separate tornadoes that cause F2 and F3 damage in St. Charles county in Missouri and Greene, St. Clair, and Madison counties in Illinois. The outbreak was responsible for 10 injuries.Freezing rain began in central Missouri around midday and spread east into the afternoon and evening hours. Roads quickly became ice covered resulting in numerous traffic accidents across the region. At least 2 deaths resulted from the accidents.
