Title: Internet Facilities
Post by: huge*abba*fan on October 09, 2008, 11:54:21 AM
Sorry if this has already been posted, but is there internet facilities in and around Arillas?.  I am staying at The Kaloudis and find it cheaper emailing then using the phone.

Hi Lisa,
Mirage and Malibu have internet facilities, probably more places, I don't know.

Another thing we learned recently was about the phone cards.  We didnt want to keep using the mobile phone for obvious reasons, but needed to leave it on all the time for news about dad... anyhow we did buy a phone card for 4 euros until a couple told us a bout the SAT card.. it is orange color.. costs 5 euros and lasts for about 4.5 hours which we didnt use up in the end.. if only we knew before.

They were a bit reluctant to sell them as its not cost effective but its worth knowing and asking.

If you have a laptop, you can get wifi connetion in Coconut Bar, Anna studios and Brouklis to my knowledge. Just ask and they will give you the password. However we found it a real pain lugging our 19" machine all around Arillas, so we didn't get on very often.

Malibu does "pay as you go" with coin slots.

The Malibu Internet is 50 cents for 6 mins, 1 Euro for 12 mins etc. I must invest in a Laptop (netbook). I would save a fortune. :D

I used the 5 euro phone cards in May, but couldn't get through to the UK on them - only local Greek calls. I had a problem in August with them and thought it may be the volume of people trying to use them but it was just as bad last week....so wasted money .....although they are excellent value when you can get through!!

I used the 5 euro one for the last few years and have never had a problem, the one I buy is a talk talk one and I think it was an orange colour as well.   so not sure if it is the same one as being recommended.  As previously said it lasts for hours even when you ring mobiles.

Yes, that's the one. I've always used it before but this year it just kept sying the number you are dialling is busy....but it wasn't at all if I used the 4 euro card.
