Would just like to know how delayed people were due to cancelled flights. We were lucky, that this year we came with Thomas Cook and although the board did not show the Newcastle gate number at the airport , the flight took off early and we got in 35mins early at Newcastle.
We know Wendy and Stu very well and had a great fortnight with them at the Bardis Sun Studios ,but unfortunatley they did not get home until today, over 24hrs late. Also Peter and Tracy had to travel to Manchester with Wendy and I believe they had to hire a car to get back to Birmingham.
I just hope that everybody who was in Arillas from 8th to 22nd Sept got home safely and Im sure that we will all be back again next year exchanging our experiences. Thank you again everyboday who we met and also to the legendary hospitality that the people of Arillas give to us all every year. Yammas.
mike ,,glad you got home safe and that you had a great time ..............yammas
I am glad that everyone got home eventually. We did hear about Tracy and Peters problems with their flights from Poppy and it must have been awful. Dennis at the BS studios is still there to leave Monday with XL and still doesnt know how he is going to get home... Nancy is sorting that out for him.
We arrived home without any problems this morning although saying that there was a slight panic when someone heard that there was an ATC problem and that no planes were landing or leaving... I thought it was quiet when we arrived in the taxi... straight through check in though, EJ passengers seemed to be the only ones there for the 11.20 p.m. flight. We contacted our daughter and she looked it up on the web and said our flight was still scheduled to land at Gatwick.
anyway, a plane did come in and we went out with it 1/2 hr later, arrived home at 12.40 a.m. but had to wait over an hour for our luggage at Gatwick and then the taxi home... about 3 miles and cost us £9.50! What a rip off! It was only £5.00 going I dont understand that.
I did hear last night from a lady who has a house out there that EJ may not be doing flights to Corfu next year, so that didnt last long did it?
Hi glad you all got home safe. We also had to wait ages for our luggage at Gatwick perhaps this will get better when its sold !!! Blondegirl your taxi was likely to be so much more due to it being time and half which normally runs fron 11pm to 7am just a thought!
Well, I didnt know that... thanks Lou!
You were lucky BG....I waited nearly 2 hours for my luggage in June from that flight!!
I sincerely hope EJ are still going to Corfu next year. I'd be surprised if they don't as each flight I have been on this year has been full.
Glad to hear your back safe and sound B.G. Looking forward to a full report. Also please let us know how Mike's Dad is. Viv
Hi BG. Glad you got home safe and sound. Great to meet you and Mike and I thought we did rather well greek dancing at the Marina!!!! We had a nightmare trip home. We were due to leave the partments Monday morning at 7.30 a.m. Flight put back till 00.30 a.m. Tuesday. Then stuck at airport and didn't fly until 1.00 p.m. Tuesday. Got home 4.00 p.m. Tuesday UK time, 26 hours late!!! It really was awful but we had a great holiday and nothing could spoil that. Hope Mike's Dad is doing OK. Keep in touch and hope we meet out there again next year. Love to you both. W & S. xx
Mike, even though we were delayed it was worth it. We had such a good time, made even better by the company of you and Joy. What a great holiday and as you say, the people of Arillas were wonderful as usual. Take care. W & S. xx
