Wahey, Air Malta strikes again!! Sorry to hear about your delay but I think all things considereed you didnt do too badly compared to a lot of other people. Can't wait to read your full report and thanks for posting while you were out there. Always lovely to get an insiders 'live' take on the resort!
I'll add to that sue. Thanks for your posts during your holiday. We both really enjoyed them.
Phil

phil i gave anna your love.
but how did she react????? just glad the two middle aged kids are out of her hair!!!! Nah - we miss her and will visit plenty in September. Thanks sue
Oh my stars! Glad you got home Sue...enventually :)
We nearly never made it home. I booked the taxi last thursday at Arillas travel, unfortunately I spoke with the yts girl. 10 am no taxi. much crying and knashing of teeth later we managed to get a lift arranged by the lady at Arillas travel and we got to the airport at 1145, on the plan 1215 for flight at 1pm. I though that I was going to spend a few more days there and that would've been hell. When I get chance I'll write a holiday report. Back at work now thoroughly depressed, still going back twice next year so can't wait.
After reading this topic about flying home I was wondering if anyone had suffered ear problems when landing.
This year, when landing at Birmingham, I actually suffered a perforated ear drum and many other people were on the flight were complaining about their ears hurting as well. My doctor said that water, from swimming, had got into the ear and the extra pressure from the landing had caused the ear drum to burst.
It would be interesting to find out how many forum members have ear problems when landing.
Hi Terry
I used to get excutiating pain every time I landed - especially bad when in mountainous areas (like Geneva). I would just sit trying to relax but with tears rolling down my cheeks! I would have sore ears and be very deaf for several days after landing.
Then I started to use ear plugs with the little ceramic filters inside - pushed as far as possible into the ears before take-off and then removed after landing. I must look a bit of a prat, but they are amazing - no more pain and no deafness. Available in most big chemists and worth every penny!!
Fiona
I had an awful pain when landing in Florida once, much worse than any other time. I always have problems when taking off, my head goes really funny, almost the same feeling as when youve had too much to drink and the room starts spinning, I feel so dizzy and cannt even look up I just have to keep my head between my knees, and all I see is black patches floating in mid air, its an awful feeling, almost like Im going to faint, does anyone else get this? The holiday always makes up for it though!
My daughter and I booked a last minute flight to Corfu last week. Sadly I wasn't able to go as my son was suddenly taken ill so, daughter went on her own.......it was her first visit and she loved it. (Another Arillas addict is born!)
After a bit of a panic in the early hours of this morning when she couldn't find the Monarch desk, where she was told to collect her return ticket, she boarded the plane and, it took off early, arriving in Manchester 47 minutes too soon! I say too soon, as I was supposed to be there to collect her and I was still in bed......thinking that I'd just snatch a few more minutes beauty sleep before I checked the arrival time!
I've never known a flight so early - is this a first?
Sue
No Sue (Peckedhen) - we arrived in Arillas an hour early in July and 3/4 hours early back to Bristol - maybe things are looking up?

Crikey what a disappointing end to a great holiday'
riggers...
I have started to get painful ears when landing Fiona.. wondered what to do about it, chewing gum doesnt help and yawning is no good either. Right below my ears near my jawbone... very painful it is too.
I hold my nose and pressurise my head till the ears "pop." But I'm worried now - after Terry's alarming experience I wonder if my little bit of brain would come out through the perforation and not be very pleasant!
Have never had a perforation, but always hurt a bit during the descent. Never been a big deal for me though in reality.
Phil
We have both had painfull ears and swollen under the jaw bones. We put it down to too much snorkeling but I only noticed something after arriving home. I always use the Boots own make flight plugs as in the past I have had really excruciating pain during the descent and landing at Manchester. When we have had to circle and queue to land, I have been literally holding my head in agony. Don't know how they work but since using them I have had no more pain during the flight. My ear is returning to normal now so hopefully no lasting damage but it does worry you!!
If I find something shaped like a walnut on my pillow in the morning Phil, I will know my brain has escaped !!
Cheers Nan x
