Most of us members have done this walk. Has anybody spent the day on the beach sunbathing at san stef. I just seem to walk on the beach and then get back to Arillas. I suppose a quick nosey is enough for me.
riggers...
Not sunbathed but we always have breakfast on the beach in the restaurant when we walk there.
Hi Riggers,
We usually spend at least one day on San Steph beach. Most times we park ourselves along at the far end where there is a small playground for our grandson and two beach bars for us...for when we need to cool down of course! ;-)
Quite often we will stop of enroute
here (http://www.sanstefanos.co.uk/where_to_eat/where_to_eat_manthos.html)

Hmm 2 beach bars i must check these out Eileen :)
riggers...
We went on the beach last year. Had a few hours in the Sun did a bit of swimming. Had a nice lunch in the restrunt at the Arillas end of the beach.
Then a slow stroll back over the cliffs. Did the same in May and will most likely do the same next week.
That sounds very nice John, might have to stay a bit longer than breakfast and try that.
John...go on rub it in you devil! ;-)
Riggers, one of the beach bars has a wee footie pitch in front...you can see a piccie here... here (http://www.mygreatgreece.com/West/Isle_of_Corfu/Landscapes/San_Stephanos,_Avliotes/Photo~1481/)
Methinks it could be a little too hot for playing...but oh my word a pitch side table is just the place to see some eye candy in action!!! :-) (sorry Erja I pinched your favourite expression there ;-0 )

Thanks Eileen.

The first years I stayed in San Stefanos!
And it is a very nice walk to the end of the beach!
And on the way back, yes you can stop at one of the two beach bars.
And enjoy your drink and watch at the football games in front!
A lot of time in the afternoon play locals there in their free time :)

Wherever we have stayed in Corfu we have always hired a car or a bike and spent at least one day on the beach in San Stefanos.
i too can add my name to the scroll of people who braved the heat to walk up the hill and down to san stefanos ... in a pair of flip flops! woop!
I did notice san stef is slightly cheaper onli by 50cent here and a euro there.. but every little helps i supose !

Well done Ash! Flip flops too! We have only done that prepared as if we were climbing Mt. Everest! :-)
tbf its like a scene from "skyones" "lost" as u disapear up the hill,
with san stef being the "others"!
ash
Very good! LOL
We walked to San Steph a couple of times last September and once in May, and spent a little time on the beach there. We enjoyed a nice lunch at the beach bar both years too, before the walk back to Arillas.
Did it in trainers first of all, but last time in flip flops, so must be getting used to the walk!
It's funny how you do get used to a certain walk and it seems to become shorter, dont tell me it's because you become fitter because each time Iv'e done that one and Porto I have eaten more and become heavier. lol Viv
We had a lovely walk to San Stef last year & spent the day on the beach. it was nice to mooch about in differsnt shop - I do recall my son bought a box of cereal?!.
Lovely views of both san stef & arillas from the top. I have got one the photos we took from up there as my screen saver at work.
