OK how many of us cook some meals from brekky to supper. ??
Well i don't mind owning up, we have many a bacon butty on the balcony in a morning watching the lovely view.
Lunch time we could have a nice sandwich on the beautiful bread from the Bakery, got form Roula from Kaloudis of course.
Evening meal can vary, mostly eat out.
Anyone different.
riggers...
very much the same here dont like cooking much so eating out the best option
even on the odd night in we would still get a pizza to take back to the apts with a few beers
although it has been known to do beans on tost for the kids to keep them going at lunch time a cold ber does me
We have to cook for our son as he wont eat real food.
So we cook breakfast, lunch and dinner most days for him then we got out to eat ourselfs.
Can be quite embarassing when we go for a meal and dont get him anything.
Yes you gotta do it Craig. My fridge is always full of beers. Hmm beans on toast ,pizza, had that myself. :)
riggers.
Nice healthy cereals for brekky, a nice salad for lunch(both at the apartment) and then eat out for tea. This way i don`t feel too guilty eating 3 courses washed down with a few ice cold Mythos.
After all when you are away you want to try the local cuisine as well as the wonderful hospitality.
M&D
It depends on how we feel and how hungry we are... usually rolls/croissants & jam, might have a boiled egg or cereals/toast. lunch might be one of those spirally cheese pies from the bakery with olives, cheese and olive paste, few crisps, toms etc. with a cold beer or glass of wine. If we have had a walk then its a nice full english and then dinner in the evening.
Most of the time its just snacks and fruit. One day though I bought some sardines, fried them til crispy and added them to pasta and some tomatoes and olive oil, few olives etc. for dinner then rounded it off with crepes or ice cream from Helens and that made a nice change. Even had omelette and chips and salad cooked by Poppy at the Bardis sun. Very nice it was too as it was a very light meal.
A couple of years ago we went to a place called Sivota which is just across the sea from Corfu.
We were staying in a hotel/apartment thing where you had your own little kitchenette.
Anyway this large family,Grandparents,Parents, kids and Grandkids were staying in 3 or 4 of these apartment room's.
One day we heard all these voices in the room next door and just thought they were all getting ready to go to the beach or somewhere.
As we walked past their open door we saw about 12 of them in this small room with their tables from each room shoved together to make a big table (bear in mind this is Sunday afternoon ) and the Granny and daughters are dishing out panloads of veg , roasties , Yorkshires and a couple of roast chickens.
Full massive Sunday lunch , cooked in 3 or 4 kitchenettes in about 100 degrees !
Now that's dedication !
Smelt lovely but I couldn't even think about it in that heat !
I bet that is a family tradition and they do that every Sunday.. Aunt Bessie and all! :-)
Haha. That reminds of one year, many years ago when my sister and I went on our one and only camping holoiday in the lake district, it poared the entire time but I will never forget my poor mum cooking a sunday roast on a camping stove. I swear to god!!
My daughter rang me from Kouklospito last night asking how to work the oven as she and her mates were economising by eating at home....lol....I have no idea....read the instructions I said!
