Thanks for the info about the studios sleeping arrangements. We went to Algarve and had a studio and we had to make the bed down at night it was ok but a bit like being in a caravan in the 1960's! The website looks terrific and the rooms well furnished so no worries now just got to pluck up courage to book it. Thanks again Nan

Nan, I could well imagine the antics of making a bed down after a night out on the tiles!!!  I'm sure I'd be in hysterics and wakening up all the other guests!!!  In fact I don't think I would bother folding it up again!

P.S...You will love the Mathraki.  Have you read all the glowing reviews on the other pages.

Nan
I stayed at the Mathraki for 2 weeks in June and am going back tomorrow for another week! Lucky me! Rooms are great! Studio has 2 single beds plus huge wardrobe and drawers, kitchen with oven and 2 ring hob, kettle and crockery etc. Bathroom has shower, toilet, sink - all you could need. Great views from the balcony too. The Mathraki is kept spotlessly clean by Nicolette and her family and they are all really helpful and friendly. I'm sure you will have a fabulous time!

Thanks again Eileen and Nicki. The studio in the Algarve was so small we had to put the bed away in the day cos we couldnt get round it. Put paid to a little siesta in the afternoon! We thought it would be the last time we chanced a studio..but well you never know.  If Nicki is going back again within days that tells me all I need to know. Have a lovely time you lucky girl you... did you say there was a fridge (maybe not) ah well can't have everything ...cheers girls xxNan

Hiya Sharon
We didn't have the eggs my hubby doesn't do eggs but we can recommend the "crispy chicken" on the menu. Don't think it's the same variety as Doris and Co preety sure it's supermarket bought  :) I wonder how the remaining chucks are getting along, bout time we had an update??

I tell you tho I do miss the clucking of the hens in the morning it was such a peacefull place and so easy to relax there.  Dreaming of going back already hey you free last week in sept my hubby is busy so I'd have to go solo??haha

Cheers Nan x

For anyone who is contemplating Mathraki - I would say DO IT!!!!
We had the best 2 weeks, fab service from all the family (esp Akis & Laura), fab food (I do miss those chicken salads & kebabs already!!), great accomodation, fantastic birthday purpises by the poolside!! Awww I miss you guys!!!

Whilst in the Mathraki, we tended to go out for evening meals and ALWAYS had a nightcap or 2 (sorry Nan) at the pool before heading to bed!!

A fab place to stay and Ive already convinced my mum and her hubby to go in 4 weeks time!!!

Suz & Ricky xx

You were right Eileen it is highly recommended.  They certainly know how to make you feel welcome.

The company was excellent and as I recall Green Goddess it was someone's birthday and it would have been rude to leave you celebrate on your own.  The ouzo was totally my fault and I should have stuck to the beer but who was it that drank all the draught Ionian and left NONE for me ??? HA HA there we have it . We had a really good evening, the next morning was just an occupational hazard.

Say Hi to the Rickster for us

Hi Nan - we have not stayed at Mathraki, but like our holiday report showed we spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon there. Never got as far as Thetis Palace because we so enjoyed it at Mathraki. Like Eileen said, they deserve the positive comments.

We have stayed at the top of the hill mostly, but will be doing the other part in September. There are many places to stay, and we all have our favourites. We are so glad to hear about new Arillas visitors who can see what we can.
