Everyone has been posting what a lovely time they have been having in the best resort ever however most of the time during your stay this would involve drinking !! so come on what has been your best night ever and why ??
I do remember ours at the rainbow we went for a quick one at the bar before going out for dinner (like you do).. we had another and another.. then we thought "may as well eat here as well"..what a night ended up going back to our room as people were going to the beach the next day ! wow ! but hey we are in arillas
Hello MammaKidd,
Indeed there have been few rowdy alcohol fuelled nights and quiet next days spent in Arillas. One of them being just the beginning of the this week :D
Alas, nothing that I can put in print ;)
Can we call this thread most drunk 'day' I remember, sorry I have been told' about a day when we arrived in Arillas about lunch time and went on the Mythos, followed by Ouzo at the Rainbow whilst we were waiting friends arriving on a later flight/coach, by the time they arrived I was a little, sorry lot worst for drink, several people had to help me back to the Mathraki, and it was only about 6pm!!!!!!
Mandy
cant remember a thing...lol...........yammas
EEG - we have been reading your posts throughout the last couple weeks .. what a time you have had !!
My memorable night has possibly yet to come.
It may well involve watching all you lovely people falling over drunk, that would be funny
I'll have another Diet Coke Please
Hi, everyone. One of the best nights that Heather and I had was back in 2004 when we went to the reps night. It was a bit of a laugh with one rather large rep doing a drag act He was hilarious. Can`t remember his name tho. Needless to say the drink was flowing and I ended up spending the next day in bed-much to my wife`s annoyance. I also smashed my shin that night but didn`t notice. Good times!!!!
My most drunken night was my 50th birthday....also at the Rainbow. Maybe Jimmy and Spiros are to blame??? I was doing fine with the retsina....until the shots came out.....Spiros had to practically carry me home in the early hours....I was so drunk still the next day that I fell asleep in the pool....not bad for October....lol
I guess ours was when we spent our last evening in San Stef in 2002 in a party of 7 - 3 older couples and a relatively young chap.
We went to a taverna where they employed a beautiful east european blonde girl called Natasha, and we arranged a mock wedding to our young friend (the one who lost then found his bagful of cigarettes - another post.) We had the mock wedding ceremony with plastic rings etc and the "bride" was given away by the owner of the taverna. Lovely old boy. And then the reception - a real feast. Jen and I had boiled prawns - should have had one between us because there were just so many gigantic prawns you would not believe. We ate it all though. Litres and litres of red wine, cocktails, black Russians, you name it. Speeches then dancing and merriment followed for a long while. But quite unknown to us, traditional Greek dancers appeared and performed. It was perfect. the taverna was busy and very amused at the whole spectacle.
We were leaving to fly home that night at 2am so we had to leave the taverna at about midnight. The owner had arranged us a taxi up the hill, but one of our party had told him we would walk. Jen was not amused. She doesn't walk well at the best of times. We stopped at Christos apartments on our way up, and had long goodbyes with Filipos and Barbara (sadly no longer together) and Angela. We were already well oiled, but several black russians later we staggered back to Alex studios just in time to meet the taxi at 2am.
It is a wonder they let me on the plane, but they did. to be honest, if they hadn't we would have stayed in Arillas for at least another week, so I was sad about it.
Can't post a pic - someone borrowed them and never gave them back.
Phil
Like you Mammakid, Mandy and Sandy we to have had the "odd" drink or three in the Rainbow and then wobbled our way home in the early hours. Jimmy and Spiros are such good fun and the company at the bar so friendly the time just whizzes by. We usually end up there most nights and see no reason to change this habit.
Paul
we brought a couple of friends with us to arillas in 2000 and i said we should walk over the top to san stef
just as we came down the hill the heavens opened it must have been about midday
so we all went into nearest place that served alcohol and stayed there as it rained all day
as you can imagine we were all rather drunk
my hazy memory of the day is we found a pack of dominoes there and just as i was putting double 6 down to win my mate said i have double 6 also lol
John
The diet coke is on me , i will have your share of the Mythos and ouzo lol . Too many GOOD nights and days to remember .
Yammas
Dave n Anne
Took me a long while to come up with one to post Dave. Far too many to count....
We will have to share JohntheRef's Mythos and Ouzo....
Take care
Phil
Come on Sandy - don't forget the time you decided to fall asleep in the middle of the road on the way back to the apartment from the Rainbow Bar OR the night we could smell gas in our apartment OR the numerous times we got lost going back to our room and ended up next door in the Marvellous OR the night we got so drunk in the Coconut that we both started undressing as soon as we got back to our room and woke up in the morning to find a trail of clothes and shoes leading from the door to the bedroom OR the time we were so drunk we were refused entry to the Rainbow Bar OR the night of the fish restaurant (OK I Know I was in bed all the next day) - SHALL I GO ON!!!!!!!
Sorry Sandy but I do also have to mention the time that you, in your infinite wisdom, decided to get totally hammered in the Rainbow while we were waiting for our taxi to arrive to take us to the airport for a night flight.
That poor taxi driver has probably found himself a safer occupation after that journey although - to be fair - you did pass out about 10 minutes out of Arillas!
Lol, good reading. Go on Joyce, reveal all!
Lindypops - sorry I couldn't possibly reveal all!!!! Mainly because I can hardly remember much - that is the problem with alcohol but I think we had fun!
Really Joyce....you make us sound like a couple of alcoholics.....surely not?.......
Joyce dont forget the fish taverna night when you came back to the rainbow pissed off your head, and ripped off my shirt, and undid my belt!!!
Phil
Don't recall any mention of sharing (Its mine MINE ) lol
Yammas
Dave
Sounds like fun Colin. Various ladies have had a go at my belt in Ibiza and Corfu.
But not many with such a calculated intention
lol
Phil
Way to go girls,lol.
Dave - I can always buy another. So looking forward to seeing you both with John and Dorothy in 3 weeks time. The bar owner won't know what has hit him/her. Take care mate. Yiamas!
Phil
This is not a post I can answer!
Because.....as you all know I am "Teetotal" !
Is that spelling correct? - Not sure as I maybe seeing double again! - Blame the heat!
Negg
:)
Yet again my post was lost. Maybe I should take the hint.
Forum windbag here again. Was only going to thank Eggy for his overheated contribution. But hey - he and Wendy live there. Jen and me will one day soon.
all the best
Phil
No Sandy - I wasn't suggesting we were alcoholics BUT I think there must be something in the ice in Arillas!!!!! Those sorts of things only happen in Arillas so what else could it be?
Colin - I love you too sweetie! You and Trish certainly got your own back - you had me believing for the whole week that throwing your shirt in the pool had turned it from pink to green! Good grief - am I stupid or what (or drunk!).
x
Taking a shortcut home after a particularly heavy night we walked over the headland from San Stef to Arillas and I somehow managed to fall over and break my shoulder.
Very nice!
I remember that Joe... didnt they put in the lamposts especially for you! ;-)
Sandy and Joyce, i'm shocked, such drunken behaviour, haha, would love a night out with you two!
Ours was this time in May at Mathraki. There were about 6 of us that were staying at Mathraki at the pool bar, Akis joined us. One minute it was about 11.30pm, we'd said, one more then we'll go up. Next thing we knew it was 5.00am and we were still going strong, I blame Akis and the shots! haha. It was a great night, lots of laughs. Billy and I walked down to the beach about 6.30am, said what are we doing here? and walked back up to bed, slept till 2.00pm, got up and went to the Mirage with no towels or anything, tried to eat something and failed, both got in the pool and then fell asleep on the sunbeds. No suncream or towels, Angela at the Mirage was very amused. Should have seen the state of us, like something the cat dragged in!
Poor Akis had to get up and serve breakfast that morning!
Thanks Akis for a very memorable night
Ouch Joe!
Sharonxx
One night in the coconut sticks in my mind (where else!!) it was a few years back when the twins were still in their pram. They had fallen asleep as well as their older brother so we had a rare moment of peace so thought we would have a couple more. As luck would have it, it was knocking off time at the taverna's so just as we were getting ready to leave some shots would arrive on our table from various kind locals. This must have happened at least 5 or six times. To cut a long story short we ended up staggering home much later, how we managed it I will never know, me pushing a double pram and he carrying lewis up the hill near Mona's. My god we paid for it the next day. There is nothing worse than heat and sunshine when you are feeling rough I reckon!
LOL Jo....especially with three small children to deal with I should imagine!
Well Well what can you make of this topic?
Sandy? Has Sandy got a drink problem with some of the things she has got up to?
Sleeping in the road, Getting lost on the way back to her apartment, Striping and not remembering,
Joyce? She seems to be party to everything that Sandy has done
Getting hammered whilst waiting for a Taxi to take them to the airport
Both of them REFUSED ENTRY to the Rainbow
Erja, owning up to numerous alcohol fuelled nights, and still doing it as recently as two weeks ago
Al, confessing to seeing Double Six Double Six Double Six in a game of dominoes
Phil, marrying off complete strangers over a few drinks[/b]Joe, breaking his shoulder and not remembering how he did it
SharonF, Cant remember if it 11.30pm and time for bed, or Five in the morning and still going strong
She also offers herself for an evening's entertainment with the Girls who were refused entry to the Rainbow
Phil and Dave both wanting a share of my Ouzo, they are both going to be disappointed if I take up drinking again
But the worst must be Eggy informing us that he is Teetotal, he must have had one hell of a night if it has affected his memory that much
However the fact remains that all in all no one has done any harm to any one and you have all enjoyed yourselves. Happy holidays to all of you and don't forget If you cant make it home you could always do a Sandy and sleep it off in the road (the side of the road would be better don't want any accidents)
LOOK OUT FOR THE NEXT HAPPY HOUR OR TWO
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA John The Ref, that was a very funny summing up of drunken reprobates!
Sharon xx
The first time I went to Arillas last year argh! It was the 1st night and also the 1st time Id tried Ouzo - and the last time! My boyfriend, his family and myself were at Kaloudis having some drinks and all of a sudden I dont remember, apparently I fell off the stool - and fell in the 'the ditch', blood was everywhere, I was then carried back up to my room, woke up the next morning with blood all over the bed and a huge cut down the side of my leg! So as you can imagine I looked lovely in my bikini for the rest of my holiday with a big scab down my leg ha never again :)
We've all said "never again" Melissa. Sadly, I suspect most of us haven't stuck to it (I know I haven't!).
What you don't say is whether you enjoyed your holiday.
lol. Jen
Yeah it was fantastic the best holiday Ive ever had and Im going again in 2 weeks! I cant wait!
What do you think of Arillas?
xx
As jen's other half, I know exactly. We are there in two weeks time then back from 27 Aug to 26 September. If you read any of our past posts, you will find out that we just love the place, and especially the people. It is our idea of paradise, and have already been four times, a total of 8 weeks.
We plan to live long term in the surrounding area next year.
Glad you enjoyed your time there last time. You will again. You're bound to recognise the Arillas hippies, so please don't be shy about saying hello. Or meet us all in forum corner (Coconut Tuesday, Malibu Thursday from about 8pm)
best wishes
Phil
Just remembered an evening in the Horizon, when my hubby, Colin, got a little worse for wear on the Beer, Ouzo, Metaxa then the Rusty Nails and ended up serving behing the bar, helping Marinos out, or hindering him depending on your point of view!!!
Anyway a VERY late night developed and Colin agreed to help Maria clean the pool with the big 'hoover' at 8am the next morning!!
He did make it and became known as the Pool Man for the rest of the holiday.
A great evening and another great holiday.
Thanks again Marinos and Maria
See you both soon.
Mandy and Colin xx
Fantastic Mandy. Jen and me could have been sharing the "rusty nails" if we had any idea what they are. Never heard of that one. We're 70's kids who drink black (or white) Russians. I used to serve behind a bar in Blighty, it kept me off the drink if you can believe that.
But my most drunk night is still waiting to happen.....
Glad you enjoyed Arillas. We always do as you might have guessed.
Phil
Crikey i was in Arillas on Holiday when all this thread was going on. I have to say the only times i have drunk in Arillas is when Eggy has led me astray :) Keep up the good work mate.
riggers....

We will only believe it was you and Eggy when we can join you in the Coconut and lead you both astray. Apparently we are famous for that...
Anorak
Ha Ha you will be very welcome Phil mate. :)
riggers...
I don't think anyone will be able to lead me astray.....lol
Hehe!
I fail to see how a person becoming inebriated with booze can enhance ones holiday and furthermore this is exactly what is wrong with "Broken Britain "!
You people are the scourge of the Earth and I wish a few more people would take a leaf from my book and STOP DRINKING and take a look around you.
I myself do not imbibe alchahol and on a daily basis routinely flog myself with wet copies of The Daily Times !
It stops me having those unearthly "urges" to satisfy those Neanderthal needs and also disturbs the people in the room next door !
So the next time you all go to your favourite taverna or the Malibu Bar Or the Coconut bar or whatever they call it remember........!
I am watching you and I will not tolerate people ENJOYING THEIRSELVES !!!!!!
Yours truly Rev H.Bartholomew Wilf Goatbender.
P.S The judge was bribed and I never touched that sheep and all those chickens were liar's !
Hey !
It's my birthday !!!!
Our most drunk night will be 29th August!
I'd like to comment on the other drunk nights, but I can't remember them! Apparantly we've been to Arillas 5 times, the photo's prove it!
I don't DO Karoke, but there is video evidence to prove I did......the things you do with a beer or 2 inside you!

Me too as it is my B-Day :D Mind you, I have to fly to Corfu the next day and get drunk again. Life is soooo hard ;)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BARRY!!!
lynn and colin xx
Thanks folks !
Suffering now after last night !
Happy Birthday Barry. Have to agree, but I prefer being beaten on the bottom with a Womans Weekly, preferably after 14 pints and a few black Russians in the Coconut. (non-alcoholic of course!) Have a good one....
Smacks of forward planning helsbels - just seems to happen to me with no effort at all....
And Sandy, are you so far gone that you couldn't be led any further astray? Bet riggers and me could though.......
EEG we will buy you that first pint even if we miss your birthday.
Tough life this eh?
Phil
Completely justphil...but you and riggers are welcome to try....lol

oh....er...Arillas 2006, met Fiona & Roy in the Brouklis and ended up at the Portafina...or was that a different day? Got dragged home by my husband in the early hours of the morning, fell in the potato field on the way back to the apartment.....ended up with mashed potatoes there......
oh...er...Arillas 2008, decided not to drink too much but managed to get through 1 x 5 litre container and 1 x 3 litre container of local red (delicious) red plonk, 3 bottle of oozo and 12 bottles of Heinkeken......but all that was over the time period of two weeks BEFORE we went out at night......
Isn't that normal?
Sounds Normal to me. :)
Was you taking it easy. haha
riggers...
Yes, decided to take it easy this year.....(I forgot to mention the lunch time drinks...)
