Title: Gym?
Post by: NicandJohn on May 17, 2008, 02:29:17 PM
Is there a Gym within driving distance of arillas? I've googled but can find nothing. I remember seing a gym in kassiopi years ago, but wondered if there may be one nearer.

I have no idea Sorry... but I was wondering if I could smuggle in my rebounder!  I have become addicted to the thing !

You might have to end up jogging up and down the cliff path with a couple of  full cans of Mythos in your hands for weights (you can drink them when you have finished)

Hi BG,

!. What is a rebounder?
2. Whatever it is leave it at home - you're on holiday.
3. Only problem with the Mythos idea is that you would have to drink it first otherwise it would get warm.

We find walking up and down the hill from Anna's to the beach is more than enough exercise!

lol. Jen

Wotsa Gym?

You need a little excercise then jog whilst enjoying the view. You wanna do sit ups then stick your fet under someones steps.

You wanna keep fit - Then come and strim my 1500 sq mt of garden.

Nicandjohn
Plenty to keep you fit, even if it's chasing me up the hill shouting :-
" You sarcastic bu**er "

Stay well
To keep fit is not to be knocked

There is a gym in Sidari! Haven't actually been in it, but I did notice it when we passed by. (A gym is not something I generally look for at any time of the year, never mind holiday time!)

For those that don't know... A rebounder is a piece of circular rubber stretched by dozens of silver springs and is on legs about 9" from the ground...in other words its a small 4ft trampoline and it is collapsible,  hopefully not when I am on it!  LOL..

Its great for pretending to jog and I can do it to music and it burns up calories... 20 mins on that and its supposed to be equivalent to 3 miles of walking, so they say... and I believe them.. who wants to walk 3 miles! I have yet to take my feet off it completely yet,  I am working on it but I wont make the Olypmics!

Mike says I fidget and am on the move too much, cant sit still for long so a bit of exercise or a walk if just what I need.  I do dance Ceroc though every week, for about 3 hrs and miss it when I dont go (I have been dancing for about 10 years now)...  I am not addicted to exercise though., 15 mins is enough for me, but if you do enjoy it and it is part of your life its not a chore.

I dont think I will be joining any line of joggers around Arillas though.:-)

I can remember that there is an Gym in one hotel in San Stefanos
I think that is the Athina Hotel but I am not sure!
A friend of mine went to the Gym and it is open for everybody,
because she don't live in that hotel.
If you are in Arillas ask somebody, maybe they can give you more information,
because I am not sure.

Thanks all. I'll certainly have a look in san stefanos, and maybe sidari if not. I will be doing a short jog in the mornings if I can stand the heat, and obviously swimming. I've lost a lot of weight (40kg's+)  in the gym (no dieting) in the last 9 months and work out 5 days per week. I've switched programs to one of heavy weight training about ten weeks ago, so my joints could probably do with a week off- but two weeks without a gym sounds a very long time to me these days.
I tend to be pretty poor at laying on the beach for very long, and drive nic crazy by fidgeting or talking to her when she's trying to snooze. I tend to get more relaxation from a good workout than anything else.

there is a gym in Achrahavi i think, but Arillas has an out door one.Activities include walking along the beach or on the many lovely walks in the area, also Swimming in either the sea or pools and you can do stretching anywhere, also the walking areas you can run or jog in.
But no real gym in Arillas

Pete has lost 1/2 stone in the past 2 weeks just walking, what I want to know is why when we both did the same walks and eat more or less the same thing I have put on 3 1/2 lbs. Viv
