We will visiting Arillas for the first time in May. This will also be our first trip abroad with our daughter.
We can't wait to get there and keep checking the webcam, but there is one thing worrying us. The baggage allowance is going to be really tight so I would appreciate any info you can give me on what the local shops stock, particularly nappies and baby food suitable for a 9 month old.
Thanks
Jo
Hi Jo,
We first took our grandson to Arillas when he was one year old. Alex supermarket on the seafront has the best selection of baby essentials. Alex and his wife Stella stock nappies/baby wipes and baby food. It's also a really handy location if your on the beach and want to pop up for a carton of yogurt or bottled water/juice.
Here is Alex's website...you might want to drop him an email to settle your mind...

Hi Jo,
Don't drink too much water in Arillas, or you made need to double up on supplies for next year.

Hi Jo
First visit to Arillas good choice you will love it
Sure you will be ok Have a fantastic time
What date do you arrive and where are you staying
Hi
We went to Arillas last year with our son (he was 15 months then). He was on normal milk by then but we bought wipes, nappies etc out there and I am sure I saw jars of baby food etc.
Have a great time - wish we were going abroad this year but I am 15 weeks pregnant with my second so we are saving our pennies and going to Cornwall this year :-)

Our daughter was 9 months when we took her for the first time and we couldn't understand why everyone (locals) was giving us eggs!! - then I saw the price of Pampers. At that time, eleven years ago, Pampers were about twice the price in Arillas, so obviously the eggs were intended to help save us money,I guess the idea being less "output" = fewer nappies required!
I think disposable nappies were frowned upon in Corfu at the time but are now appreciated for their convenience and practicality, so maybe the prices are more reasonable.
( - sorry, 'didn't mean to underline everything like that. It's been a long day!!)
Our daughter took her baby over last September, he was 2 months old and she had no problems at all.
You couldn't have picked a better place for your 1st holiday with your daughter. bet you book up for next year. Have a great holiday.

jo1 stop worrying ,just get there chill and enjoy ,you will luv it .....yammas
You could always ask Dimitris and Litsa where they get their supplies from and if you need anything they would know the best place.
Thanks for all the advice.
I'll squeeze as much as I can into the cases and will buy what we can when we arrive. If necessary we'll just have to hire a car for a few days and set off in search of extra supplies.
