Kalispera to all the faithful members,
Perhaps some of you can help me with this,
I would like to create an new page about flights to Corfu from different countries in our website.
My Idea is to would be nice to arrange a list of all the airports that do direct flights to our island
the list will be like:
Airport
flight company
which days of the week they fly,
Direct links to their website.
also any other combinations of indirectt flights that anyone of you have done.
if you think this is too much the ignore me ... it must be the wine that I had today.
What a good idea Dimitris. How would you like us to do this. Will we post on here, or send you message with the information for you to 'tidy' altogether?
Eileenxx
sounds good!
Hello Eleein!!
I had a feeling that it would be you the first to respond in this message!!!
Better to post here. it will be safer for me in case I delete my emails !!!
Ha, ha Dimitris you know me too well!!! ;-)
O.K this is what I have on file from the U.K (perhaps not definitive)...also Easyjet are missing...I've yet to add it. Other countries will have to wait....I'm off to open my wine!! The list of indirect flights...ooerr that's another matter...so many permutations!

Good idea, Dimitris.
Eileen covered most of flights from Bristol, but missed
First Choice Airways
www.firstchoice.co.uk
Flies on Fridays throughout the season, May to October.
Also Thomas Cook files both Mondays and Fridays.
But there are many websites which can search for the best deal from all the operators, and help with booking direct. Some of these are:
www.airflights.co.uk
www.justtheflight.co.uk
www.cheapflights.ie
www.flightsdirect.com
www.flydeals.co.uk
www.skybargains.co.uk
www.flightline.co.uk

www.cheap-flights-corfu.co.uk
www.flightfind.co.uk
www.charterflights.co.uk
www.cheapflightbookers.co.uk
www.discount-airline-flights.co.uk
Then there are the more established sites like lastminute.com, ebookers.com, opodo.com, expedia.com etc etc. Most of these come up with ridiculous prices and 3 or more sectors taking three times as long from UK.
Hope this helps.

Hi Dimitris!
Great idea. Eileen has covered the flights from my local airport CWL Cardiff. Flights are on Tuesdays and Fridays as she has stated, but several companies share these flights. I have booked a Thomsonfly flight for Friday 2nd. May, but my ticket company is 'First choice'
Hope this helps,
Martin.

I like this flight policy,
It is like you are booking for a table at Brouklis and while we are full you end up having a meal in Amourada and vice versa!!!
If nonne comlains I;m goign to talk to the taverna owners to adopt the same booking regulations.
Kalimera,!!!
Dimitris
LOL :-)
This is where the whole process of listing the flights can become misleading and complicated such as Martin has just pointed out.
I have tried to list all the flights (that I know of that depart from the U.K). First Choice as far as I'm aware of do no have their own aircraft therefore they charter from other airlines, as do many others. I did not see the point in listing First Choice when their flights are not in addition to the flights on my list. Sorry I should have pointed that out on my post.
I will have to check if Thomas Cook offer flights in addition to Flythomascook schedule...I hope Joe will come on to save me the cross-checking!

I have had a quick look in some of them websites http://www.cheap-flights-corfu.co.uk/ and with great surprise I saw that they advertise
Winter & skiing breaks to Corfu is there something I have missed?
I had spent 7 winters in Switzerland some years ago how did't anyone tell me I could do it in my own home?
:) :) ;)
Dimitris...could it be that Cheap-flights know more about the rate of Global Warming than the experts?! It looks like you will be open 52 weeks of the year now!!!
Okay....here is the easy one (LOL...get it?!)
Easyjet:
London Gatwick-Corfu
Mon-Fri & Sun dep 17.30 (31st March-28th Sept)
Sat dep 12.05 (from 3rd May-27th Sept)

Kalimera Dimitris!
I thought you would be surprised at the 'goings on' at these U.K. rural airports. Some flights will have three or maybe more companies all selling seats on the same flight., as well as 'independent' direct bookings. I found it a lot cheaper to book with 'First Choice', as this flight was £30 cheaper than the 'Thompsonfly' booking on the same aircraft! It was also cheaper for me to book at the Thomson Travel Shop near to where I live rather than on line where they wouldn't sell me a 'single' seat! Very strange.
This is going to make your taverna booking system a bit more complicated!
Yammas,
Martin.
Fantastic idea Dimitris and what great contributions from Eileen, Marika and Phil&Jen. How jealous I am of your efficiency!
I have just paid an exhorbitant price for our flights in June from East Midlands as the prices are gradually creeping up (daily from some airlines) - nearly £100 more than I paid last year. I was too scared to leave it any longer as generally prices go up when the seats are running out!
I notice Marika's contribution has a lot of Air Berlin flights and this airline offers very good prices UK to Germany. Perhaps next year I'll look at stoppng off in Germany!!
I look forward to seeing your final topic composition Dimitris!

We have flown to Dusseldorf Weezer on cheapy flights. I wonder if Marika's Dusseldorf flights leave from there to Corfu. I know its a bit of a trip but it might work out cheaper sometimes.
From Finland:
Finnmatkat: http://www.finnmatkat.fi/ (http://www.finnmatkat.fi/)
from Helsinki Finland on Fridays, TUIfly Nordic arriving 21.30 in Corfu
Aurinkomatkat: http://www.aurinkomatkat.fi/ (http://www.aurinkomatkat.fi/)
from Helsinki on Saturdays, Finnair arriving in Corfu 10.35
Great work Dimitris. Air Malta - Monday's from Birmingham.
see you soon
Raff. Helen. Sophie & Abbie
Have aslo found out NOW Manos are doing holidyas from Exeter to Corfu and Arillas.
Friday flight and i think its with First Choice.
Damm Damm Damm to late for us its a 75 mile trip to Bristol
I've done the same thing Harold....didn't think the Easyjet Gatwick flight would start until May so we have booked via Athens....then discovered we could go from Gatwick direct in April. Infuriating but at least we'll know for next year....
thanks everyone for helping on this post.
harold and sally,! its a pity but we are never able to predict those games.
I was just looking for flights in October with easyjet and found that there are good deals for example 75 to 85 pounds per person return.
Hi All,
The only problem with these flights to travelers like myself is the cost and additional time it takes to get to these distant and vastly overcrowded airports from 'the sticks'. I am looking at a journey of in excess of five hours each way from Cardiff. Long and boring with stops at every town and service station. Its about time more flights were made available from 'local' airports to relieve congestion on the London areas.
Never mind the plans to extend the large airports, lets get the 'local' airports into providing a better service!
Martin.
Hear! Hear! Martin.
Though we can get to Gatwick by train (the drive on M25/23 is too much for me now) the flight times are awkward so we spend all the saving on staying overnight. Too old now to sit in the airport from midnight to 7am when the first train goes.
More regional flights without the ridiculous surcharges would be a real step forward.
Phil
Well said Martin, I totally agree.
We have limited destinations from Norwich Airport also. But you can fly to Schipol and then onwards but it costs a fortune!!
First Choice do have their own aircraft (the ones with the turquoise fin) but are merging with TUI of which Thompsonfly is a part of. FYI Thompson may be pulling out of the charter seat only market.
My Travel ceases to exist in 14 days, it Looks like a Thomas Cook Aicraft convention at Manchester Airport. I am changing jobs here again for the 2nd time in 2 months, yay!!!!!
Nice to hear from you again Joe. :-)
That's scary news about Thomsonfly, that will severely restrict our options. Mind you the prices that their website is showing at the moment are so ridiculously high that I'd be surprised if they manage to offload them at all.
Maybe once you have settled down into your latest job you will be able to come back onto the forum as much as before.
Take care,
Eileenx
May not be all bad news.
If Thomsonfly pull out of the charter seats market, maybe the likes of Easyjet will see that as an oppurtunity to expand into airports where Thomsonfly are currently operating.
Here's hoping!
Angie
Hi!
See my reply on 'Easyjet' topic for my views on the subject!
I am twelve feet in the air with out support. I am paying £248 for a single return seat in May with Thomsonfly via Firstchoice(£50 cheaper with Firstchoice even though it's on the same flight as Thomson!) from CWL Cardiff for a trip that is available from Gatwick at a lot less. Total madness!
Martin.
Hi
the single direct flight in south-eastern Europe to Corfu is operated by Wizzair- once/week / from Hungarian capital - Budapest - depart 20.40PM, from half of June until half of September
flight back saturday 23.20PM some tricky hours for the poor us...
Other via flights are operated by Aegenan airlines trough Athens from our Romanian capital Bucharest...few times weekly ..
Sadly it seems that all the charter options are already booked by the local tourism operators which eventually might sell only tickets at double prices..
Just a quickey, we have just been advised that Thomson fly have cancelled all Tuesday Cardiff - Corfu flights
Does that affect you Allyn we had it once from leeds bradford 2 weeks before we flew to Turkey with my travel
They offered flights from other airports which wasn't an option a full refund or choose another destination
I went on the internet and found Lanzarote but it was £200 more expensive but they honoured the original price we payed so i dont suppose you can be fairer than that
Tony
