Title: A Crazy Idea.
Post by: TerryW on January 14, 2008, 03:53:17 PM
How about this for a challenge.

When we go to Arillas, this year, we all take photographs of ourselves at the same focal point. It could be by the notice board on the sea front, by the Arillas.com road sign, in Brouklis or the Coconut bar, or on the seat on the pier.

I think that the notice board could be good, especially if the photos could be published on it. There must still be a lot of visitors to Arillas, who are not aware of this forum, and the notice board would be a good way of making them aware of it. Two people, who I work with, went to Arillas last year and did not know about this forum

Its just an idea but it could be fun.

Good idea Terry.

Is the notice board near the beach, just before you step onto the pier.

Terry
Agree it's a good idea but I don't think notice board permission would be given for the photos.

However if somewhere such as Brouklis or Coconut agreed to have a photo board then that's different.

But, being devils advocate here, should the Coconut do it then Malibu not wanting to be left out would go for something similar, and if Brouklis had one would another Taverna feel that "favourites" are being selected?
Maybe, with Arillas song money collected, an Arillas.com notice board would be allowed.

All very Interesting "food for thought" - ( I just love that phrase ! )
Cheers

ps. Wanna pickled onion?

Good idea Terry,
What about an 'Arillas.com' badge! I mentioned this on another thread. All members of the forum to wear one whilst 'in transit' and In Arillas as an identifier so that you can be recognized by fellow members!
Just a thought,
Martin.

We could all wear cryptic badges, something like:

'Eggy's are good for you @ arillas.com!'

Then everyone who uses the site will know that we're already fans, and intrigued folks would ask what on earth we mean.

A tribute to the bloke who keeps us updated with the place we love through the times we can't be there ourselves, and the fab site that has brought us all together!!!

Not so crazy in our books, Terry. As usual, the forum members can help make it happen.

Jen and I would be only too happy to join in - photo, badge (however cryptic - good one Hels Bels!) I'd even fall in from the end of the pier if it helped!

Eggy makes some sensible points that have to be watched, but surely as a group we can do something to promote the website/forum?

Cheers
Phil and Jen

Eggsactly my point! Hatched a good one here I think! We'll have to incubate the idea a bit and maybe end up with a 'chic' little badge, which could be quite 'cheap' to produce!

I found an Egg Shaped Speaker which could be worn like a badge. We could all have  the Arillas Song Playing out of it as we walked about.

You can buy them ....

This was supposed to be a serious discussion :-)

Terry
May I , on behalf of the Forum, apologse profusely for taking a very serious idea and then "scrambling" it. (Probably with a little salt n pepper, butter , cream..............)

That egg shaped speaker looks like a yuppie pickled onion to me !!

Hi Terry!
I was being a bit flippant but and egg shaped badge with the words:

  <www.Arillas.com>
Eggsactly what you need.

Would be a good and cheap badge thats easily recognized and small enough to be worn on anything!
Just a thought,
Martin.

Hi Eggy!
Hope you are not getting too eggsasperated by all the yolks!
Great photos on the other 'thread', wish I was there now, wegg has a natural talent with the camera and has captivated Corfu with the 'moody' shots I like so much. You both do a great job keeping us all in touch with our favorite destination. All jokes aside, I think the egg shaped badge and the logo should be considered seriously as a members identification 'must have'.
Keep up the good work,
Martin.
