Iwas wondering whether to exchange sterling over here in england, at a miserly 1.36 or risk exchanging when i get to arillas. Any help eggy????
Hello riggers
Is better to exchange here the rate this week was from 1,40 to 1,42
Theo
Hi Riggers, we have always found it better to exchange over in Arillas, just take enough with you to last the first few hrs your there depending on what time you arrive. Viv
Thanks vivian and theo. I go off the morning paper, they say rate is 1.37. I will check this out.
John
Current exchange today was e1.424 less the usual 2%. Nationwide Flex, via the ATM, as you've probably read gives you the best exchange rate without commission.

Hi riggers. We just take enough for a day or two, then top it up at the ATM, or have a day in Sidari, at the machine there. It`s worth getting a taxi there, have a look about etc, and taxi back. Couldn`t do a holiday there though.
cheers negg, always seem to do this wrong. when in arillas about 2 years ago , i think? euro shot up to about 154 or was that year before. Lindypops i could not do sidari for holiday, i think to busy for us, but thanks for reply.
Yw. I could`nt do a holiday there, but it`s ok just to pop in now and again, maybe for the pharmacy etc.
As I travel down to the South of Ireland quite a lot,I track the rates through the Banks.I have found that rates quoted in daily papers are never accurate.Start shopping around a couple of months before you go away.I got 145.7 this year in july 7 weeks before we went away.Remember you pay the bank a flat rate of £3.00 whether you buy £50 or £500.The exchange rates at airports are a rip off,the rate at Belfast when we were going away was, wait for it,1.36.Was,nt I a happy Bunny.
Airport exchange is very sad.
Today in Arillas it's still e1.425 on the board. The best bet, I think, is either go for commission free travellers cheques at home, if you have the right current account, or bring a wad of cash with you.
