Title: Arillas part deux..
Post by: Rugbymad on October 03, 2007, 04:36:29 PM
Well what can we say or where do i start, lol.
We were due out from Norwich at 4.45 pm but due to our plane being struck by lightning on it's return we departed at 8.15 pm D-oh!
We arrived at the Kaloudis at 4.30am and headed for bed.
Wednesday morning we rose at 9.30am only to be met with a tropical storm with torrential rain,oh dear .
Still we thought we would take this oppurtunity to take a look around and familiarise ourselves with the surroundings that was until we found the malibu bar and were made to feel most welcome. After a few mythos later we headed back to our apartments, within a few hours the sun made a brief appearance so i took to the beach where there were some huge waves (great fun) i took it on to be brave enough to sit on the bench at the end of the jetty til a massive wave drenched me from my head to my toes, think the locals thought i was a bit mad and they are probably right, lol.
Thursday was a lot nicer bit slow to start but the sun came out at mid day and it was warm,we ate out every meal time and had fantastic meals every time i think our favourite was stifado and stamnas was a close 2nd.
Everybody we met were very friendly indeed .
Can't really single out a favourite restaurant they were all nice.
But many thanx to captains for putting on a good birthday dinner complete with birthday soundtrack, cake, bottle of bubbly.
The trip to Corfu town was simply magical, very enjoyable courtesey of Olga thank you.
To summarise, Arillas was just simply the best holiday we have been on .
Would hihgly recommend it and we can't wait to go back next year.
P.S thankyou to every body on this forum with all the tips and advice you have given me in the build up to our trip. 10/10.

Glad you all had a lovely time.  Nightmare about the flight out - but just one of those things that can t be helped.

You can now say you are an Arillas Addict!! ;)

When I first started to read your post, I thought it was going to be one big moan and then thought "no hang on they have already said it was great in another tread" and that Arillas had done its magic again and you were addicted just as we all are. Just pleased you got that couple of hrs rest when you got there. Viv.

Before we went i was reading all the advice, posts, looking at the photos, webcams etc thinking this place looks to good to be true, you build up a mental image as to what to expect but nothing lives up to the actual Arillas experience,it is simply breathtaking.
We were very lucky to have the ground floor apartment at the Kaloudis no31,with fantastic ocean views and lovely gardens surrounding us,so close to the sea i actually paced it out and it was 70 foot steps from the end of our road to the beach which took me around 45seconds to walk(oh how i miss our early morning walks along the beach).

Hi Rugbymad

Glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday. A week wasn't long enough was it? It's a pity we went the day after you arrived as the girls were getting on like a house on fire.
We loved Arillas as well and will definitely be returning.
Best wishes
Holly
