What good looking horse's (and men) where are they stabled (the horses) or are they belonging to you. Viv
Nice horses indeed :)
So is it now service on horseback at Brouklis?
Please, keep it clean !!
From looking at the cam, it looks wet and windy in Arillas today (Wed 26th Sep) but I would still rather be there, than here.
I'm glad I wasnt sitting there though!
Well spotted Dimitri....you caught our very tanned lady. I didn't see her in August - maybe she only ventures down into Arillas at quieter times having thoroughly toasted herself at her house!
Ahhh.... so thats the lady everyone was talking about!
Yep thats her, although when we saw her in May she was considerably browner than that, maybe she stays inside a bit more when its really hot!
I saw her a few times. The first time I saw her I thought it was Stephanie, the cleaner from the Horizon, but it wasn't. They are both very thin.
I note she hasn't mustered a single vote on the thread "Men, your vote counts"!
Todays (Friday 12th October 2007) picture of the day, reminds me of something stupid that I watched from the beach last July.
A blue car was driving down the track, very slowly, and it got to the bit thats breaking away, as in the picture. The car was there for ages and I guessed that the driver didn't know whether to reverse back up the hill or to trust driving across the "nasty" bit.
Anyway, a saw a passenger get out of the car and ushered the car forward so I assumed that the driver had decided to attempt getting down to Arillas with as little weight on board as possible. Luckily the car did make it.
Maybe I am a bit too safety conscious but there is no way that I would have driven down that part of the track. I just hope that nobody does it in the near future because I hate to thing what could happen, especially if there are people on the beach below. I would imagine that after the rain, that eggy has described, over the last few days the track is more dangerous than ever
Have any forum members driven down the track and how easy is it to get Warning signs erected in Arillas?
Terry
i think you're right.
The track, alongside the football pitch, leading down to our house has changed completely over the last few days. A few more holes and dips appearing where they weren't before. It throws you totally off. Before I got into a rythmm of "left-StayLeft- Right-Middle etc" Now I have to be careful not to lose the exhaust.
There are fresh holes/dips appearing on various roads around the North here.

For some reason I cant see the pic of the day Friday 12th any body else having problems. Viv
I can not see that or the weather cam picture.
I think the woman concerned walked past the Coconut this afternoon. I asked Costas if he kenw who she was but, by the time he looked up, she had gone.
Now I can't see her on picture of the day. - Bizzarre !

I saw this lady many times in Arillas last week. She wears a blue bikini and bizarrely, always carries a Tesco bag! I saw her on the beach one day, when I noticed she also wears bright blue eye shadow and scarlet lipstick. the plot thickens..
That describes her exactly how she looked in May when we were there, so strange!
Have you seen todays, 18th oct. Where is it? x
(http://www.arillas.com/page/images/rsgallery/display/Image3-153.jpg.jpg)
Hi Sharon,
I think it is Porto Timoni as seen from a satellite.
You can read all about it here http://www.agiosgeorgios.co.uk/timoni2.htm
Eileenx
What a fantastic pic of the day Dimitris!!! It looks as though you were hanging onto the wing to take it.

Hi Eileen, Hate to say this but I think your wrong if you look on the right of the photo you will see San Steph harbour. Love Viv
Sorry the Left. What a stupid mistake for me to make good job im not taking part at crufts this year. lol Love Viv
Sharon and I were talking about Thursday's photo not today's. Which are you talking about?
Eileenx
Daah Im getting dafter and dafter, I am on about 20th Oct, didnt even see the one of Poto Timoni think I might have been slightly post birthday. Sorry. lol Viv
Two things we saw the Lady everyday when we were over in October and we said goodmorning to her on every occasion that we saw her,she did speak back,so she does talk.
The second is the path over the hill, there is a small sign at the bottom Arillas side saying no cars(a picture of a car with a red line through it),but not sure about San Stefanos side.
Hi Harold I noticed the sighn and said to Pete that I thought it was silly not to have on San Stef side but then relised that you would come onto the road before you reached the bit directly onto Arillas so that answers the question. Love Viv
Todays photo (Monday 22nd Oct) has really got me thinking ( headache now on a Monday morning).
The aerial view has to be one of many, so I imagine that someone has taken lots of photos of the Corfu coastline. If this is so, I hope more can be published and can also be made available in their original format so we could zoom in close and see buildings etc.
Does anyone know if flights around the island are available?
TerryW
Must agree with Eileen and TerryW todays picture is superb.
finally I was able to make another dream of life come true!
Last Wednesday I flew with a friend on a piper over Arillas and the area .
It was an unforgettable experience I did not enjoy the flight because I was taking continuously pictures with the three different cameras that I took with me ( about 500 shots).
When I will be able to possess them all I will publish them for you and also I;m developing that "googleearth-like" information map for Arillas. (http://arillas.com/Aerialmap.htm)
That's all for now sorry I do not contribute and follow your other postings,
I still have other priorities to be busy with!!
Love to all of you
Dimitris

Fantastic photos Dimitris, keep them coming
Sharon x
Dimitris, We are so pleased for you that at last you were able fulfill one of your ambisions. They are great photo's. Love Viv & Pete
I am glad you were able to do the flight Dimitris and I can't wait to see the photos.
I think I may be asking for details of how to book a similar flight just before my next visit in July 2008.
TerryW
A nice Rainbow.
It looks like it was taken from Brouklis and the rainbow ends at Villa Linakis.
dimitris who was flying the plane while you were taking photos ,hope it wasnt you ...well done its a fab pic...yammas
Another great picture of the day Dimitris. I am so enjoying seeing Arillas from a different vantage point...I can even make out where my house is!
I can see the new building on the bottom left of the picture. It's on the right hand side of the road out of Arillas (direction of Corfu town). I hear it's to be a new bar/restaurant, I'd be interested to know if anyone has any more information on it.
Thanks again Dimitris for sharing your photos with us.
Eileenx
I thought that your house would be on it Eileen. I am hoping that Dimitris will let us download the original photos so that we can zoom in and see more detail.
Have a go at him, he might listen more to you!!!!!!!
Hi Terry,
You can just see a smudge where my house is. I tried zooming in on it but it was still just a smudge!...maybe it needs someone with a better knowledge of these 'techie' things than me. For some confusing reason it was even worse when I put my glasses on!
Eileenxx
Eileen,
I think you would see your house quite clearly if it was the original photo. The resolution reduces dramatically when the picture size is reduced to fit the forum.
We need to get Dimitris to upload the master file for us to see.
TerryW
Terry,
Aahh...right now I understand. Thanks for explaining that for me, now I understand your original post when you mentioned the original photo...I know, I know I'm rather slow at this stuff!
Eileenx
Dimitri, the beach looks wonderful today....the calm after the storm.
Can anyone see the shape of a head in the top left hand corner of the photo? The vapour trail looks like the outline of a nose, the single cloud looks like an eye.
Maybe its a "sign" that Arillas is being looked after during the winter.
I think those magic mushrooms and the pink elephant are getting to me.
Dimitris,
Wow thank your Dimitris...what a surprise...what a fantastic 'picture of the day'! I can see our place. :-) :-) :-)
I have an aerial photo of my house here in Scotland, I will (with my brother's help of course ;-) ) download this to hang on the wall beside it.
Thank you,
Love,
Eileenxxx

LOL big bruv...what your not up for a Bushtucker Trial?!!
I have the aerial view photo already, it was a pressie from Keith...not that he hung out of a plane or hung from an aerial either!
Wee Sis.xxx
Is that Tria Adelphia on the right hand side?
Sharon
you got it in one
Mick
Thank you Dimitris for yet another amazing picture of the day.
Eileenx
I must second what Eileen has said, another amazing photo.
The trouble is, I would now love to see the original photograph and be able to zoom in and see more detail.
Thanks Dimitris
From today's picture it looks as though more of that cliff has fallen onto the beach...
Yes Sandy it does. I don't know why they don't knock that big mound off the top, before it fall's onto someone sunbathing next year.....riggers......
The first one there will have to report what it looks once a load of people start walking it again. Viv
snakes on the beach, wow what a photo ,wonder where he caught that,i do remember seeing grass snakes warming up on the tarmac, in the mornings when buzzing about on my scooter ,but that looks like a adder to me,hope he didnt get bit ,,,,,yammas
lol Kev,its a fish but I cant remember what one,one of them eel thingys I think
Ang
There are water snakes by the rocks they look black as you see them flashing awy from you in the sea, but I quess it could be one, we need Niko to tell us as he does a lot of fishing by the rocks there. Viv
I don't know what it is?. But i sure as hell hope there isn't many of them...........riggers...
Is it some kind of moray eel,its the mouth bit that I recognise
Ang
I love this Pic of the Day
(http://www.arillas.com/webcam/Image3.jpg)
Thats the pace of daily life that we should all crave for
That's original for a car boot sale
what a wonderful gesture, merry xmas in the sand, well done dimitris.........yammas
Quite a few poeple on the beach today....
Terryw....did you know your post on December 18 changes the picture of the day each time...is that deliberate....or are you just very clever?!
Love it, Ive allways wanted to gallop a horse on an empty beach, have managed to trot a few yards on one but to many people on beach at time to have a really good gallop but if I could be on Arillas beach, just sitting on a horse as handsome as the one in the photo would do me. Viv
Only once have I done that and never again. On holiday in Majorca, I was 17 (long time ago but can remember it well). A group of us went riding on the beach, my horse was black and HUGE! The little spanish boy looking after us whistled and the whole pack started galloping. Bearing in mind I have only been on a horse once before to have a photo taken you can imagine the sight! Like Thelwell Cartoon! Definately no skill and finesse there I can tell you. I almost came off hanging off the side and vowed never to get on one again and I have kept that promise.:-)
More "totty" for the ladies in the Picture of the day today :) Thank you Dimitris!
I agree EEG, very nice scenery today!!!
Another stunning Picture of the Day Dimitri.....makes me feel really nostalgic. Wish I was there now.....
I have only just seen it Sandy, its a really lovely one too.
I'm with Sandy and Blondy on this...it's beautiful. You have caught the moment perfectly. :-)
Eileenx
Agree with everybody, Dimitris that is a stunning photograph, the colours are fantastic.
