I'm sorry for taking up a new topic, but I am so excited. Just booked for the Horizon again for 2 weeks next year and flying out 30th June.
Its too long to wait though, I need this forum to survive. I hope you can all put up with me for the next 10 months.
Good Grief terryw!!!
You're keen.
We'll let them know you're coming, so they can prepare your room. ;-)
...and of course I will give myself a huge pat on the back as I smirk in smugness at the fact that it was I who gave you the final push into booking Arillas in the first place. ;-) I take a bow :-)
Seriously I think we all kinda gathered that you kinda fell in lurve with Arillas!
So get moving and set your tickertape countdown thingy.
Eileenx
P.S...there are just soooo many of us going over next month.....are you sure that you cannot join the September frenzy?
I'll have to give you a big pat on the back Eileen, and maybe a peck on the cheek.
Do you ever get worried that you could be helping to pass on a very contagious bug to people?
Thanks again x
Terry
BTW ...it was your sexy Scottish accent that really did the trick.
I wish we could book for next year, we are in the process of moving house, saving to go to Australia at the end of next year unless we can get a last minit cheapy I cant see us going to Arillas next year. We sure wont be able to get into the Bardis it is almost fully booked up already.
Awww Blondegirl - Do you mean I won't see any amazing dancing next year :-(.
Tell Mike that you will need a holiday to recover from the house move.
I was really pleased with the price for our two weeks at the Horizon next July, £760 total for 2 weeks. I don't know of many more places where you could have a room that is just yards from a perfect beach, in a perfect village, with lovely honest people and also be able to eat healthy delicious food.....Paradise.
The only additional spending will be on car hire and food and drink.
well done terry, im flying out on 27th june staying out alexs on the the front so ill see there.im going with my wife and my muminlaw who is a arillas virgin.so looking foreward to it.... yammas
That's great Kevin, we will look forward to seeing you.
I think I am going to compile a list of all the things that I need to do on the holiday. All the things that I think about everyday whilst at work.
I think I will start now and I can keep coming back to modify it, and hopefully I will get some suggestions (polite ones).
Things to do in Arillas July 2008.
Eat Fish Stew at Brouklis
Eat Galactoboureko at Brouklis
Meet Eggy and his Wife and any other forum members who will be in Arillas
Go to any Greek Music and Dancing nights
Spend more time in Peroulades - I loved it there this year
Walk to San Stefanos and Afionas.
Try to find the Heritage Walk.
Fulfill a dream in an Olive Grove.
Spend some time at Kanoni on a "Flight" day to see aircraft takeoff and land.
Take a video whilst driving around Arillas.
Learn more Greek before I go.
Drive around more of the Island.
Visit both forts in Corfu Town
Visit Perithia and Old Sinies
go to Alexis Taverna on the road to Melitsa/Sidari.
My dancing skills, ha ha ha!!! will have probably have to be missed..will have to practise a few more steps for another time! Perhaps Mike and I could be the entertainment for the evening....... now that would really be funny! Nobody would turn up! Perhaps come up with an Arillas dance... as long as its not an equivalent to the Birdy Song
Terry - fulfill a dream in an olive grove. What do you mean ;)
Hi Terry,
Read your list, if you go to Peroulades, you must go to Alexis Taverna on the road to Melitsa/Sidari. We found it when we were in Sidari, went back when we stayed in Acharavi, and returned to it when we were in Arillas in July. Delicious food.
We are hoping to go back next year around that time, so unless you can get out in sept this year, will see you then. xx
Thanks Sharon - I will add the details to my list.
Shuey,
Its a secret shhhhhhh, but you may find the answer in another of my posts, or ask Eileen.
Oooops I think I am digging a hole for myself.
Shuey...
Terry dreams of capers in the olive grove...thus there will be more olives on the ground than you could shake a stick at :-o
Eileenx
Damn,
Eileen has let my secret out. Yes I will be on my knees looking for capers (Capparis rupestris) in the olive groves. I am told that they go very well with a nice Stifardo.
Oh er!!... Capers very nice with skate!

That was so clever - I loved it.
Terry
Phew, I can relax now.
I have booked flights tonight at £179.00 each and I have phoned Mary at the Horizon and paid my deposit.
Mary sounds very happy and said that she can feel the baby moving around a lot, and she is also pleased that the August rush has now ended.
All I need now is my £200.00 back from Libra.
Now the hard part begins, the wait ..... 10 Months!!!!!!!!
I hope it flies by for you Terry!!
Thanks smiffy, so do I.
Anyway, you have a great holiday smiffy

Hello terry i think i can beat you on price we are staying at the kaloudis next year for 18 nights £812 for two of us we are going last two in june 1st in july and like you we are counting it down allready! Been back a few weeks now but missing arillas and marino and thomas and maria and roll on next year!
I'm glad you liked it steven. Is the £812 for accommodation only because 18 nights does not seem like a package deal?
How many times have you been to Arillas?
Yes terry its all correct we have trebled checked it the only thing thats not included is the transfer, we have been to arillas 5 times the first was on my 40th birthday i couldnt of asked for a better present.
Terry, where did you get your flights? We are hoping for first two weeks in August nexy year and the prices are horrendous everywhere so far.
