Hi, does anybody know how much it would cost in a taxi to the Donkey Rescue? If you want to go and help out do you just turn up or contact the lady before?

Thanks Viv, I will contact her before we go, can't wait to see the donkey's, I think are gorgeous animals. Did you ever see the one in Sidari, the old fellow that owned it had it stood all day in the sun eating bread to get a few euros. I would take it fruit and make a fuss of it, he didnt like it but we ignored the old sod. When we were in Arillas in July we went to Sidari to see if it was there but it wasn't. Hope it ended up in the sanctuary.
Hi Sharon, the sanctuary is unknown to most taxi drivers, and even many local people in nearby Gouvia don't know of it's existence. An American friend went recently and her taxi driver really struggled to find it.

She is gorgeous, if I ever win the lottery I would have a donkey sanctuary and a boxer dog rescue centre. How anybody could ever be cruel to an animal is beyond me. It is so upsetting to read in the papers about it. I can't read them any more. It ruins my day. I will definately be going to the sanctuary, billy will have a job tearing me away. Does anybody know of the Sidari donkey, that i asked about earlier? I would love to know if he was rescued. He was so sweet and pleased when I cuddled him.
I did see him a couple of years ago but not since, at least if I did see him in May I didn't reconish him. You will have to ask when you get there and let me know. Viv
