Title: Malibu & Coconut Bars
Post by: Eggy on June 28, 2007, 04:11:48 PM
Just wondered all.
Have any of you spent time at the above other than the usual late night drink or two?
A late morning drink when they're quiet of maybe taken in a film on a rainy afternoon.

My other half always sneaks off during early afternoon to have a relaxing drink with Costas. I always try to persuade kids to watch a few films to get them out of the mid day sun as well.

Viv
The film was "The Fantastic Four" ?? - I still haven't seen it from start to finish.
( I'd rather eat a lambs head then watch it all )
I have had a few "one off" drinks in the Malibu, just recently, at various times of the day.
George strikes me as a nice guy and during the day he's got time to lean on the bar and have a good ole natter.  A bit like the English Landlords we used to have.
( Cor - That's going back a bit - Unless someone knows different! )
Cheers All

We always make the Malibu one of our first few stops when we arrive, always have gone to see George, as during our first visit back in 94, the Malibu was one of the few bars that were open, as we arrived just around the 1st week of the season. There were not many people around at that time and around 15 of us would meet up during both day and evening and have such a great time hosted by both George and his brother.I can see them all now ah memories.
Negg your not far off the mark there George does like to chew the fat of an afternoon and you do feel like your at the local......
Infact I think we may just have our first drink there in 2wks time as we will strole down from Thetis pop in to see Olga and sort out some transport for the week and guess what...oh its the Malibu..lets pop in and say hello

In the 9yrs we have been going to Arillas got to admit we have only drank in the Coconut Bar.  It's like our local while we are over there, know all the regulars, good chat with the barman ha ha.  Couldn't imagine going to Arillas and not spending our nights with Kostas, Perry and Hannah.  We normaly stop in for a drink after one of our many walks as wll so don't just go on a night

We are the same.  I must confess we have never been in the Malibu Bar.  We normally spend the night chatting to Perry and Costas in the Coconut Bar.
