Eileen, how do you put pics like that on your posts? I have tried loads of times but never succeed!
Right Jo I'm not too hot at this stuff but this has been something that I have been trying to do for ages but only sussed it out today at long last. (My brother Killie is going to be amazed at me for doing this myself!!)
O.K this is how I did it, but maybe others will have other methods....
- Go to http://www.imageshack.us/
- Click on the browse tab and select your pic from file
- Type in your email address
- Use the drop-down menu to re-size your image according to where you are posting it.
- Then click host it
- A few seconds later another page will appear on the screen, scroll down it until you come down to the box titled 'Direct Link to Image'. Copy and paste the text in the box
- Now onto the Arillas Forum.
- When in the Post reply text box go up to the icons which run along the top of the box and choose the Insert Image icon. The icon is like a little picture.(it is next to the one that looks like a spinning (wheel)
- This text will appear (img) (/img) Between the two sets of brackets insert the code which you copied and pasted from the Imageshack page.
There you go, that's the best explanation I can do, give it a try...good luck :-)

I cant even get the quote to work so I am not going to even think about giving Joe a heart attack by not being able to add an image to my posts LOL !!!!
That made me laugh BG :)
No offence intented but for the more casual users linking images in posts can be quite difficult, much as Eileen has written you need to find a free image hosting site and upload your picture, they will then give you a link which you can insert in your post. I find http://www.filehigh.com/ (http://www.filehigh.com/) very easy to use and its free. If you have any spare time create an account with them and see how you get on.
Just trying it out. This is Nicky, me & Karen in Corfu back in 1992.
Hi Eileen, Have tried it clicked on browse chose the picture, it was to big and cant get a drop down menu to resize it. Will have to wait for Pete to get home, and then get laughed at. boohoo. Viv

Hello Eileen,
It was taken sometime during summer 1992 in Kalami when I was working in Corfu doing car hire for my first summer. Most of the story is here:

Sorry for straying off the topic *blushing*
A great photo. Kes does the programe you sent me resize the orignals automaticly, or can I leave them on our web at same size as they are now? Viv

Please
how do I make it smaller ?
Hi Benita,
When uploading your photo onto Image Shack there is a 'drop down' menu which gives you the option to choose a size relevant to where you are going to post the photo.
i.e: 320x240 for websites and emails
640x480 for message boards.
So if you know that you have selected the 640 option you can go back and re-do it to the 320x240.
Eileenxxx
Thanks Eileen
Will try again. I think we are messaging on 2 different forums at once, my fault. I have trouble finding the one I was on. Not good on a PC ! Need a kid here to help lol

2nd go
Hi Benita,
It seems that for both pics you have chosen 640x480. If you want to make your photo smaller you will need to re-size it o 320x240. Keep trying, practice makes perfect.
