After an absolutely fantastic holiday staying at the Rainbow Complex in August I fell in love with Arillas and will definately be back . I have however been tempted away from the area next May by a really cheap deal in Kalami. I know it's got a lot to live up to in my esteem but I'd love to know if anyone has been to both resorts and how they compare.
you can try www.agni.gr its a message board for corfu with forums for all the resorts , it was through someone on there that reccomended we try Arillas after being to San stef , and now we`re hooked
jersey bean i no how you feel i love it to i also stayed at the same complex and love it and the people specially Jimmy Spiro and BILLY and are unsure weither to go some where else with my friends and back to arillas with my parents or just try some where else but i shall return to arillas not matter what luv little miss
Hi there, We went to kalami on our first visit ever to Corfu. Our kids were wee
then, but what a brilliant time we had there! The beach is all pebbles, but there are lots of sunbeds,
the sea is lovely there, but not as safe for small kids as Arillas beach is.
The tavernas are good, there are 2 supermarkets now, and a couple of gift shops too.
When we were there, a minibus used to go to Kassiopi each day, so was handy
for a bit of variety. Kassiopi is very nice too.
Now, whenever we visit Arillas, we have a day over in Kalami too. I love it there too,
but it is quieter than Arillas. I hope you like it if you decide to go!
To be honest and this is my opinion, I have never compared arillas to any other place in corfu and for that matter nor any other place I have ever been in this big world, I or should I say we just like it because...
we can all I'm sure wax lyrical about the many places we have experienced for the good bits and the not so, however in essence we will always return to this simple yet eclectic place called Arillas a little bolt hole for the many from all parts of the world.
Thanks jan-c I have looked at that message board. I'm looking forward to seeing Kalami thanks for all the replies but I know that Arillas will always have that special quality that will lure us back again and again and we're already planning our next visit. I agree that I think it will be hard to match the hospitality at the Rainbow. I'm curious to find out. The one downside to our holiday was the delay on the way back to Gatwick which was about 9 hours. Was anyone else on that Monarch flight to Gatwick at the beginning of September? It was a bit of a nightmare. We'll be back though.
We had our first visit this year in August & stayed at jimmy & Perrys but spent a lot of time at the rainbow bar.We had never been to Corfu before but had toured other Greek Isles including Crete, Kos, Cephalonia & Zakynthos. Arillas made a big impression on us all (2teenagers included), so much so that we had only been home 5 days & rebooked to stay at the Nafsika apt next August.
asoon as i got back i wanted to book again to stop at nafiska cos i had such a laugh with billy and jimmy and spiro aslo made a great impression hope you next hoilday in arillas is as good as this year im sure mine will be luv little miss
Kalami is very pretty. I haven't stayed there but we have visited Agni bay many times on our travels. There is a water taxi from Kalami and it is well worth a visit. Don't go to Agni taverna though, go to Taverna Nicholas, the food is fantastic.
