Could anyone please help . I think the new forum is brill but I just can't seem to get the emoticons (smileys) working, can anybody help as I know that I am not the only one struggling with this problem. Many Thanks in advance

Hi again,

The smiley's see to work fine if you just type them in the old fashioned way...colon,hypen,right bracket, etc. :-) I don't think there are any shortcut buttons to them anymore :-(

Hi Maggie, you just need to put a space before and after the characters, it didn't work beacuse there wasn't a space before the smiley.

Just reading back I don't think I was to clear at the start of this Post, thats what you get sat in front of a computer most of the day!!

Enter these characters without the spaces in between for:

: - ) Smiley Face :-)
: - ( Sad Face :-(
; - ) Winky Face ;-)

Nearly there, remove the spaces in between and it will work perfectly.

No you didn't Maggie - you need to have a space before the : and a space after the ) but no spaces in between the characters.  I'll have a go :-)
Now I'm not sure that's worked!
