Title: Holiday last week of July in Arillas
Post by: saxa on July 03, 2020, 12:33:02 AM
Hi. UK government may be letting UK citizens travel to Corfu in the next few days . I'm interested in taking my son swimming in particular on a short holiday at the end of July.  What is the situation in Arillas i.e can people swim in the local pools and is aqualand in Corfu open and if not, when will it open please?

Hi

Aqualand Corfu show only 2019 opening times on their website as of just now. Nothing for 2021.
Maybe some local Greek can comment further

As of last week Rainbow Pool was the only full pool that I found. - They are not open yet so chances off using the facilities are probably zero. - No one on site so health and safety is a problem. If any further news, on everything, then I will post it.
Cheers

That sounds a bit rubbish then as who is going to go to corfu if there are no pools to keep cool in?
Is there any news as to when pools will open ?

Hi Saxa
Pool upkeep , from what Wegg has learnt paying these bills, on behalf of private Villas, is very expensive. Any complex with a pool needs to get bookings "on the table" before they consider this expense. I will check around Arillas , this afternoon , and come back to you. I know of three Hotels, with pools, that are not opening this year (Sidari and St George) Rumours say that the Tour Operator concerned was after a reduction in what they pay the owners , per Appt booked. (Trying to change the original contract)
Cheers

It's an island! - You know - surrounded by sea! :D

Don't you do 'sea'? :D

It is my pleasure , and at my age, pleasure can be hard to find , that I can tell y'all that Tria Adelphia Pool is being filled , as is Horizon pool , plus Marina Pool. Rainbow pool is already full which leads me to believe they have guests ready for July 16/17.
Tria are also expecting guests for these dates so both will be open. As will Marina pool bar but I am not sure if Horizon is open to all. ( Usually staying guests , but I may be wrong)
Sunbeds are , once again , taking a major share of the beach. Don't know about the licence cost or if the councils have made reductions to the "Summer Cost" for the Taverna owners etc. - So , my view is never quibble about the price for these items.
(These guys, in my opinion will be lucky to break even this year)
Cheers
