The dates of the next Corfu Beer and Gastronomy Festival (http://corfubeerfest.com/en) have been announced last night after a small meeting of it's contributors.
This year's theme will be CORFU MEETS UK!! from Wednesday 8th until Sunday 12th October 2014.
It will offer again the opportunity for two different cultures to meet and travel in each other's history. Visitors will get to know the culture, hospitality and gastronomy of Corfu through the exhibition of local products, through presentations of local recipes by local cooks and through educational seminars. This way our visitors will become ambassadors of the real Corfu!!!
Some British Brewers will be invited in order to produce their beers directly in our Corfu microbrewery (http://www.corfubeer.com/index_en.html) that will be offered during the festival among the local beers and other products.
After the great success of the fist attempt in 2013 where Corfu Met Bavaria, we are all looking forward to next one hoping that Corfu Meets UK will be even Better!!
See you in 2014!!

Excellent news hot on the heels of a very successful first ever Corfu Beer and Gastronomy Festival.
With just under a years notice would-be visitors have plenty of time to make travel arrangements. I'll do all that I can to help publicize this event.

Dimitris I've just had a thought...
The German sausage souvlaki were rather tasty - I wonder how haggis souvlaki would go down :-o (have to catch the beasties first ;-) )
Looks like fun and I am most definitely considering of attending this festival next October. Now we'll just have wait for the flights to come out ;)
TC has some great deals for the Rainbow at the moment, Jimmy is working with them to try and fill up for October, staying open right to the end of the month. With the beer festival confirmed this is good news for Arillas but hurry I'm sure he will fill up fast.
A full Rainbow, with 50% of the guests throwing darts, is a good enough deal for me!
As it's a Corfu/UK trend next year will the festival also have a dartboard?.
Wili we be able to see it - after a few bevvies?

Quote from Eileen " I wonder how haggis souvlaki would go down"
It should go down quite well Eileen with one of your well known Scottish Ales :-) (I always thought it was from Wales :-( )

Welsh choirs. Scottish pipers. Traditional Morrismen and Morris dancing (girls). Irish dancing. Jazz bands. Pop bands. Brass bands. Body Poppers. Street Dancers.
And then there so many traditional breweries and micro breweries that a UK/Corfu festival with lots of Greek food treats....plus, haggis, sausages, Yorkshire pudding, Welsh cakes, Lancashire Hotpot, and every other tasty regional food that you could think of will be WONDERFUL.......
But we can't be there because it's term time :( :( :(
Val and Bill x
Ha ha Terry! The technical glitch didn't spoil the laugh for me. I would love a haggis souvlaki with a glass of that.....
And like Val and Bill, Jen and I will almost certainly miss it because of term time, then arrive in Arillas afterwards. Such a shame.
Phil
Do kids do Morris Dancing?
I only ask as it's a long time since I've seen a "Morris Minor"
Negg
Terry I'm sure that beer would raise a few sniggers at the beer festival :-)
Such a shame you 'term timers' can't make it, roll on retirement Phil ~ don't want to offend by saying the same to you Val'n'Bill ~ you may well be spring chickens!
Well, past the "spring chicken" age Eileen.....we look after two grandsons while daughter and son-in-law work to give them the best in life. Unfortunately that means we only have "Holiday" time when they do. Lol.
Val x
We will be there for the first 2 days so f Roula needs any help she can ask Pete.
already booked 2 weeks starting 3 october and then no work to go back home to,I am retiring early, so two weeks in Corfu to celebrate and the beer festival Again,Great Great Great.
Hope to be saying the same next year Harold. Jen and I will have to miss it this year though. Know how much you will enjoy.
Phil
Phil, last year we went on the first and last nights and had a great time,I was the first ever person to buy tickets for the drinks and food, going to try and be the first again this year lol.
Rootin for you Harold. Wish you every chance.
Phil
Give me a chance Harold.lol.xx
I knew a "countryman" who used to dabble a bit?

I just wondered.. is the Beer Festival an evening thing? or does it go on through the day as well?
Rachel x
I'm happy because we've just booked another week in October at Annas Studios and Terry's happy because it coincides with the Beer Festival which will mean a short walk up Cardiac Hill!!!!!
Viv and I will be there; 25th wedding anniversary on opening day and the same week as Linda and Nicko's from the Night Owl. Can't imagine what we might do though by way of celebration?!!
