I will be in Arillas for 8 days from 4th May. As I have never been earlier than the end of June I would welcome info as to what type of weather to expect, both during the day and evening.
thanks
Dorothy
Hello Dorothy - we have been many times in May - all I can say is very changeable - usually quite hot in the day - cool at night - but then again we have had wind and rain too. Just go prepared with a rain coat, warm cardy and most of all enjoy :-) xx
as ann has said ,,,changable ...,,but you will have a great time no-matter the weather ,,with been late oct ,had sun, rain ,and storms ,,but had the best time of our lives.............yammas
Hi Dorothy!
I usually go to Arillas in May and September/October. I would say the temperature and weather in May is the same as a 'good' British summer. Mostly warm and sunny by day, a bit cooler at night. It's a wonderful time to be there, all the island is 'waking up', lovely green shoots, masses of flowers and stunning displays of fireflys at night to light your way home from the taverna! My favorite time of the year.
See you there!
Martin.
Hello Martin-w, -
you describe the beauty of Arillas with such passion. It reminded me of your beautiful photos of flora and fauna. Wouldn't mid-winter be the ideal time to show a selection of them to your fellow Arilliacs? We'd sure love to see them!

Your watchers have spoken. Please keep 'em happy and me too.

Just Love the fireflies
May is a fabulous time in Arillas, Sunshine Showers a little chill at night
Take something to keep the chill off
Take some Lotion for the sun
Take the nearest Taverna for the showeres
and Just enjoy the time of your life
Hi all!
I'm not very good at getting my photos onto this website, but trying my best to get the hang of it. This is my favorite, I keep a copy near my D.V.D. player for when I need that Arillas 'boost'. It's a slide show of Arillas in 2008 when the resort is waking up to another season. I used photos taken over my first week there from May 6th of that year and it shows, I think, what a 'typical' May is like. The music is from a C.D. bought in Ina's.
I first visited Arillas in 1999 and in the years to follow as I got to know and love the place and it's people, decided to make a 'guided tour' of Arillas and the surrounding villages and countryside, beginning and ending at my favorite Bardis Sun Hotel. I expect all you Arilliacs will recognize where the shots are taken, the tavernas, the sunsets, Afiones, Ageos Stefanos and a lot of 'off the track' country scenes.
Enjoy!

Has anyone had any success at photographing the fireflies? I had lots of attempts last May, but failed. When the roads and hedgerows are full of them like a Disney scene they make a stunning sight, but not been able to get anything on the camera.
Martin.
