Returned on mon 16th July from 1 week in Arillas. First time here, only one bad thing to say about it - IT WASNT LONG ENOUGH!!! Have already left a deposit at Tria Adelphia to return in September. What a beautiful place, totally fell in love with it. Saw the donut man on the 2nd day, on the beach, i was staring at him, thinking that's him! he came over but i immediately said no thanks. Have left a report on Vavalis fish restaurant on another thread. Stayed at Leonidas, pretty little room, loved it. Also ate at Bourklis, The Captain, and Armourda. Bourklis, the captain, lovely food, good value. Didnt really enjoy the Amourda, bit pricey and not really tasty as others. Went up to Afionas to see the fantastic views. Just a totally chilled out, peaceful, wonderful week. Love the people, they are so friendly and warm. I am now, i am proud to say, an Arillas addict. LOVE IT.
i am going out there for the first time also, on sat. am really looking forward to it, although need to rethink my suncream factor, as it is going up to 39 degrees. did you have it hoT?, hope you didn't burn
we just missed the heatwave, it was a comfortable 30 to 33 degrees. Two really windy days, which was nice and refreshing. enjoy!

So glad you enjoyed your first time in Arillas and that its not going to be your last! I also read your post on Vavilas and noticed that youd obviously patched things up with your partner, im really glad you had someone to share the experience of Arillas with you in the end.

Thanks Smiffy, yes we patched it up and Arillas put a great big bandage around it. Only wish i had known Arillas existed when we first started coming to corfu 3 years ago. There really is no other place for me now. Agree also, that if i had come on my own, i would have been totally safe. Cant say that about a lot of places these days. May it never change, it is a breath of fresh air.
Am so pleased that you had such a lovely time Sharon - sounds like it was just what you both needed! I never understood people who went back to the same place year after year - until we went to Arillas - now I wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

We used to laugh at people going to the same place year after year after year. Didn't they want to see the world. The you guessed it a last minute bargain to Arillas and yes in the last 9 years we have been no where else. Even had to start going twice a year. Our Daughters now love the place as much as we do. It's just addictive

It's fantastic when you read a story like yours. All of us remember the first time we discovered Arillas, the most fabulous place I have ever been. We too said we would never go to the same place twice. Now it's only ever Arillas. Occasionally we have tried other places, just to see, but no where beats it. We will never forget our first holiday there in July 1999. It was magical. So glad that you felt the same and so pleased that it helped sort out your relationship. Keep going back, as you have already discovered, it really is special. So pleased for you.
Hi Have to agree with you sharon f, We also returned on 16th after our first time,we are also hooked,It all sounded so marvellous reading about it on the forum before we went,but we couldn't believe what a fantastic place it really was once we got there and experienced it for ourselves paradise we are hoping to return in September,just can't wait to get back,the food,the people, the scenery,the beach,everything is perfect!!
Yep, there is something about Arillas that cant be put to words. It is just there to be enjoyed ;)
36 mornings to wake up...
Well we too are first timers to Arillas, after some gentle persuasion from my aunt and uncle (Arillas veterans of 10 years!). After a major upset with accomodation, I'm still looking forward to going - dont even care if i'm sleeping with the goats or on the beach now!! We're almost on our way..............will post the only to be expected positive results on our return! :-)

It`s funny how we stumble upon these little gems... It was purely by chance that friends asked us did we fancy a last minute cancelation holiday to corfu, the resort to be allocted on arrival.? (thank god we said yes).
It was our 3rd day when I was sat on the balcony of the Makris with a cold beer waiting for Janet,Jack (my little lad) to get ready before we strolled down into town for our evening meal that I realised how relaxed I felt. We`d done all the usual places Spain,canaries,even corfu before (Kavos),but none as chilled as Arillas, and that probably accounts for us coming back in august for the 6th consecutive year.

Hi Sharon, so its your first time eh, the first time we went 24 years ago we fell in love with the place as well, although it has changed a bit since then, we go back tomorrow morning thats Friday 27th, and we stay at Kaloudis every year with friends that have been going, some for only 5yrs and some for 12 and another couple 23yrs so as you can see we ALL love Arillas, and of course we have already booked next years holiday ok, take care.

It was my mum's first time to Arillas this year and she wants to go back NOW!! You juts cant put it into words what Arillas does to you once you have been there. It was my second time this year and was even better than last year. Hopefully i will return for a week next year if my fella lets me go!!

We to have just returned from our first trip to Arillas. What a wonderful place. We had read your website before we went and couldnt wait to get there. It was everything we wanted from a holiday, lovely weather, beaches, food, people we couldnt fault it. We stayed at the Marvel Hotel which was excellent value for money. We spent a lot of time around the Mirage's swimming pool. We had a look at their apartments whilst we were there and they are immaculate as they are really new, the only problem is that Thomas Cook are charging for 3 people in a studio and theres only 2 of us so we would have to pay a supplement if we went there. All in all a wonderful holiday and cant wait to go back.

If I had my way I would be coming back next week but I dont think my boss would like it too much!!! It was such a relaxing holiday, we went on one trip (to Parga and paxos) but apart from that the time was spent sunbathing oh and eating and drinking!! The diet started on Monday!! If I win the lottery tonight I will be out there next week. I'm trying to find a good deal for next year but havent found anything yet but will keep trying.
Thats what a good holiday is all about, sunbathing, eating and drinking!!

We stay at the Bardis Sun Studios which are lovely and only a couple of minutes walk from the Mirage. We are amazed by the prices for two in a studio. Take a look. So pleased that you fell in love with Arillas just like the rest of us. : o )
My family and I have just returned from our first trip to Arillas. What a fantastic place! Everyone was very friendly and we felt very safe - no big groups of drunken yobs anywhere!!! We will certainly be returning at some point in the future. The memory of the sunsets will stay with us forever!!!

We're booked into the Alexandros Studios at the far end of the road from the beach.
Our first time in Arillas. After very careful consideration, I chose Arillas because it offers the type of holiday we like.
We don't have a pool, but understand we can use the one at the Rainbow Bar nearby for the price of a drink or snack? :-)
I found out today, the Alex' is quite old with small rooms, but hopefully enough for us.
Hi James will see you there then because we are staying at the Rainbow, it has a good bar and snacks and Jimmy and Spiros are great hosts and will make you very welcome.

The Alexandros are lovely apartments, Angeliki and her husband are there from early morning to late afternoon, cleaning and looking after the gardens etc. They are so peaceful. People say they are quite small but I have to say that for the past few years I have not really experienced staying in a large apartment so the size did not bother me when we stayed last year.
You can also use the pool at the Marvelous a little bit further down the road, this tends to be a little quieter than the Rainbow, but both are really nice and welcoming places to visit.
You must visit the Captains for a meal, great value for money and good quality food. (If you are a fan of an English Breakfast I'm sure they can teach the English how breakfast should be done!) It is a quiet place, with a definite 'greek' feel to it, with good food choices for both Greek & English style food.
Or meander up the road in the morning to the Bakery and get yourself some fresh bread or croissants, and sit on your balcony and enjoy.
We are coming back to Arillas in the last week of September having already visited in May can't wait to get back to all that lovely food and surroundings!

There is a sign about water taxi in the window of helens next door to alex supermarket.Last year when the water sports kiosk was open they used to radio for a water taxi. We never used it but we hired a boat for the day instead and did our own exploring. It was great. Where are you staying?

We've had the music problem at other places, it seems to be for the benefit of the staff ;-)

Hi Sharon, ive just returned from my bit of Paradise and i booked next years holiday in may just gone, only 50 weeks till i go again for my quarter of a century in Arillas. Im soooo gutted, i didnt want to leave as usual and met some new people who are going back next year as well. Hi Alan, we go back on September 17th, 5 weeks today! Then it will be months, probably next june/july. Going to make the most of this time in Sept, try to see more, do more. So I'll have loads of memories to take me through the dreary winter months. I really haven't known anywhere like Arillas that brings people back year after year. When we were there in July I think there was only one couple we spoke to that had only been the once, everybody else was like you said, returning for years. Luckily Billy is the same as me, and it will be very hard to budge us from Arillas. Take care xx

we stayed at the Rainbow last year and our accomadation was facing the pool, it wasn't noisy at all. I think you will find it a happy medium place ! you get my gist, peace if you want it and also people around if you want a chat ! And never heard the music from the bar when we were in the room.
