An interseting article in Travel Weekly. I dare lay odds that the tour operators and airlines do not pass on the savings to us.

Going to get in touch with Thomson and see what they say.

This is good news for the airlines and tour operators.  However, if they don`t pass it on to customers as cheaper fares, how are they going to persuade more to book Greek holidays?
The big boys benefit and we don`t.  So the Greek government, after having the sense to waive fees, will not have the increase in tourists that this was designed to achieve.
Maybe operators will think twice and change their minds.
If anyone knows any different, please let us know.

The money grabbing airlines will probably blame the 'rising costs of fuel and taxation' as a 'legitimate' reason for not passing it on to the traveler. Lets hope that they can at least 'peg' the costs from rising even more now this is in force!
