Great to see a photo of Neil + spouse - a rare event.
Moving on to O, thought of oleander, olives, Old Perithia, but came up with ORANGE JUICE. (Photographed 6th September 2014 at the Ammos.

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than  to speak up and remove all doubt.

On Huttoft Beach

by pj's memories, on Flickr

Glad we sorted out the robot question - 'twas not 'War and Peace' I was standing on, just a handy step for short people.  As you will see from the photo taken yesterday (in 30 degrees) I was in my usual footwear, on the Lincolnshire Coast at Huttoft where despite it being hot and sunny, and the school hols and the height of the season there was plenty of beach for everyone!

Looking forward to my dose of Arillas in a couple of months time.
Best wishes
Pat

HI ALL

X FOR XERARCH in a dry habitat. growing in dry places

Bougainvillea
They are not flowers you see they In botany, a bract is a modified or specialized leaf, especially one associated with a reproductive structure such as a flower, inflorescence axis or cone scale. Bracts are often different from foliage leaves. They may be smaller, larger, or of a different color, shape, or texture. Typically, they also look different from the parts of the flower, such as the petals or sepals. The state of having bracts is referred to as bracteate or bracteolate, and conversely the state of lacking them is referred to as ebracteate and ebracteolate, without bracts.
The leaves are alternate, simple ovate-acuminate, 4–13 cm long and 2–6 cm broad. The actual flower of the plant is small and generally white, but each cluster of three flowers is surrounded by three or six bracts with the bright colours associated with the plant, including pink, magenta, purple, red, orange, white, or yellow. Bougainvillea glabra is sometimes referred to as "paper flower" because the bracts are thin and papery.
