Title: Maro Apartments
Post by: Truth on July 25, 2023, 03:29:42 PM
Afternoon All !
Just been looking at Maro Apartments online and I'm very impressed !  Being a Coconut lad I don't use Malibu (twice in 10 years I think!) but fair play to George he's done a hell of a job with the accommodation . Pool looks fantastic too .
I might well pop in and spend a few hours there for a change one of the days if its the usual Greek unwritten law of "buy from the bar and the pools yours" ,,,,,, not to keep obviously , its more than the fluid allowance to fly back with !  lol
Does anyone know if that's the case ?
Cheers

I think that if you buy a bevvie or two then the pool is available to you. It it was for "patrons only" then there should be a sign. To me, open to all, is good business for this new investment as visitors just may be booking next year. George , Malibu , has spent many hours on this venture and I am told the appts are super.
I know he has put heart and soul into this.
Worth a reccie , Karl
Cheers

Hi Truth

Yes it's worth a butcher's and a few beers
It will be ideal for us as we are a couple old gits  with zimmer frames not to far to walk

I always drink in there even when Kinga worked there and watch the football

Cheers Negg / Kev ,
I'll probably give it a whirl and just ignore a comment on the internet I just read that nots complimentary . They appeared to be knocking the place for being too upmarket and not part of the village feel of Arillas . If its upmarket George will be saying to me and my lot "Your names not down , you're not coming in !"

Karl
I have known you long enough to know you are your own man.
So.... ignore the sour grapes and decide for yourself.
(But you have probably decided that already!! - late advice not reqd!!!)

We went for a look and were told we were most welcome to use pool if we bought a drink/lunch. They have done a fantastic job, yes it is modern but still the same Arillas welcome!!

Karl, if you go for a Gyros dinner in Boyata, next door to Malibu, there is a walk between the two that take you to the Emar & Maro pool area. It is very "Instagrammable" place but they really have made something beautiful and a lovely addition to the village. :)

Hi Erja!
You ok? 🙂
We've eaten a couple of times in Boyata, which I know George owns too, and it was nice.
100% going to give it a go 👍

Jill & I are also "coconut people" & have only ever drank in Malibu once previously but eaten regularly in Bouyata.
The accommodation we have stayed at previously upped their price for next Year to 80 Euro/night from 55 Euro/night (350 Euros extra) so we spent some time looking at alternatives. (Can't go wrong with Mathraki but prefer beach area and no hill to contend with!!)
Panagiotis took us around the new complex - Absolutely stunning!! - Who would have known it was there!!??
We spent a day around the pool & it was so tranquil & peaceful - Bought Drinks & no issues regarding the use of beds & pool.
The Maisonette's & Villas are not in our price range but opted to stay in their studios next Year and can't wait - The response & communication from the Family has been great.
Not sure how much noise we'll get from Coconut & Malibu but lets see?
Truth - Don't think you can go wrong with this choice?

Glad to hear you're sorted for next year already ! 👍
All sounds very promising for George going forwards with feedback like this on his accomodation.

We will definitely be visiting one day to enjoy a cocktail. It certainly looks lovely and I think that there is room in Arillas for a little luxury as long as it's not too pretentious which by all accounts I've heard so far, it's not. Good luck to them I say.

Hi Sonia

We were a little surprised I must admit - We paid 50 Euros/night 2 Years ago and were expecting a rise for next Year but not that much although there has been a little work done to the property so perhaps trying to claw a little back?

I'd rather not say where but if memory serves me right you had a little to do with the owner & her beds?
The room is very clean & spacious although a little basic but a view to die for. Lovely sea facing balcony with sliding doors & Mozzie net & a second balcony facing Effi's with the same doors. Gives a great breeze through the room but also very good A/C which is included in price.

Perhaps we have upset her I'm not sure - Probably would have paid 65 euros/day but don't think it is worth 85? - We've previously stayed in Maranaki for similar price & you get much more for your buck - The 350 Euros we are saving next Year will go a long way to paying for flights.

Out of curiosity what is the rate for Bardis?

Thanks

Neil & Jill

Thanks for the info. I think I have figured out where you mean
The rate at Bardis studios is 55 euros per night to include aircon. I am sure it will go up next year. It normally goes up about 5 euros per year which I think is reasonable.
