Hi Everyone
We off to Arillas for the 1st time in 5 weeks time, I've been reading about it now for almost a year and can't wait to go!
We are staying at the Anna Studios which sound great (apart from the hill!) however I'm concerned about stories I've heard about transfer times. We are wondering whether to pick up a hire care at the airport, but is this wise considering we don't know the area, etc?
Thanks in advance
Elaine
Hi Elaine,It did take us 3 hours last year, maybe it depends on which travel company you,ve booked with. Our rep on the coach was actually staying in Arillas so it made sence for it to be the last drop off.A lot of people do seem to hire a taxi or car.Theres eight of us traveling this year and we're hoping for a free tour of a beautiful CORFU.Have a great holiday.cx
:D Hi Elaine,Sorry it was me i forgot to log-in again, and forgot to say how ever long it takes its well worth the wait(I PROMISE THAT)cx
Thanks for your reply, Carol.
I must admit I thought of it as a chance to see some of the island, other resorts etc, but the other half is moaning, too long after the hanging around at the airport, lenght of flight etc!!! I think it's probably more to do with the fact that he wants to get in the bar quicker and experience the greek hospitality!!
Elaine
hi
well it took us about 3 hours but we were that excited we didnt care.
just make sure you go to the loo first hehe

Hi, although we get taxis now from the airport or Spiro picks us up we have experienced the coach transfer. The first time we went it only took 1hr 15mins as we were the first to be dropped off. It was through the day and the scenery was beautiful. The next time we went it was late at night and the journey took 3 hours. As we were tired and you couldn't see anything it did put us off BUT once you get to Arillas it doesn't matter how long it took to get there, your in paradise.
Jill
hi elaine
We suggest that you get a taxi if you haven,t driven to arillas before as the roads can be a little scary especially if you land at night in the dark.
have a good hol, dont forget the photo for Dimitri,s album.
norm & sandy
Hi Elaine
As we are usually with Norm & Sandy , we usually get a car @ airport supplied by Anna where you are staying, which they either meet us or drop it off for collection, and as Norm says if your coming in daytime its alright and nice to see the surrounding area, but if its night time get a Taxi, which is about 40 euros.
ther are alot of comments on this on forum, under transfer journeys etc.

Elaine
p.s. you can tell the other half that the taxi takes about 35mins , not long to wait for a drink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,Ive heard about the bus to corfu town early morning but i didnt know there was a return bus.what time does that get back.thanks in advance.
Hi Guest from Campbletown, you don't happen to know Julie Sloane and her boys Sean & Michael Middleton from High Street do you? This is thier Granny here. If you do send me an e-mail. Completly forgot, when we arrive it will be early morning so we are going to have a sight seeing trip on the coach. Cheers Viv
i know that the transfers are sometimes long (3hrs) but i think that the coach after is part of the fun because you are so excited as you have just arrived in corfu and you cant wait to get to arillas and see all your friends.
Hello,
we have just arrived home and the transfer time was 2 hrs from the airport to Arillas and from Arillas to the airport about 1 1/2 hrs only 2 other pickups though
Hope you had a good time Harold.
2 hours sounds a long time for transfer. Did you visit other resorts en route?
NIGHTMARE 3 HOURS! IM GOING TO TAKE A TAXI THIS YEAR WHICH I AM ADVISED COSTS APPROX 40-50 EUROS AND SHOULD TAKE LESS THAN AN HOUR!
HAVE A LOVELY TIME.
hello guest,
yes we called at sadari and achravi, both just a single pick up.
Hi,I dont care how long it takes, :D as soon as the taxi picks us up at home thats it our holiday has started. 8) cx
Hi Carol
I would take a taxi if i was you , you'll be there in 45mins, unpacked and in the bar having your 1st ouzo or whatever!!!!! before the bus gets there!
I'm all packed and waiting to go, we are going to Birmingham airport tomorrow [Sunday] & stopping over for early start Monday.
signing off until after the hols...........................................

Hi everyone,
the transfer time depends on which tour operator you are with, eg thomson takes approx 1 hour, libra- olympic approx 2 hours as its a smaller company and does two or more resorts.
Does anyone know if five people will get in a taxi, or will the max be four?
Maggie.
hi maggie,
i dont know but i think it would be better if you maybe had 2 taxi because you will have your luggage as well but i should also think that it is the same as in the UK 4max. :D have a nice holiday!
when do you go again??
love marie xxxx
Hi Maggie
Taxis will omy take 4 people, but if you send an email to arkokal travel (their email is on the map of arillas) they do transfers by mini bus. Not sure on costs though
Vicky
Thanks Marie + vicki I suppose we'll just get two taxis. We might check with the rep how long the bus will take first. Thats how the scots get a reputation for being mean! lol. We go on June 21st. Thanks again, Maggie.
:D It took us 1 hour on the coach but only because we were lucky that everyone was heading for Arillas.Unfortunately most people we have spoken to have sufferered the 3 hour transfer this seems to be the most common transfer time,so we were very lucky.
I think i might have been very lucky on all my visits to Arillas with the transfer time never being longer than one & half hours this was at night with two drop offs one of which was a wait for the mini bus to transfer people to Ag Georgios. This year 24/09/04 at 11am, 1 hour 20mins with three drops including the same mini bus transfer. I did check with the bus driver (no transfer rep on board) as after reading this site i was concerned, his timing was spot on, the return 01/10/04 was by mini bus at 9am straight to the airport 55mins. :D
This Sept/Oct we travelled again with Lybra, transfer time was around 2 hours each way.The return trip was quiet nice we went away we have never been before after picking up in San Stefano
When we got to Corfu Airport last Monday for our flight home, there were People there who had booked there holiday with Golden Sun the firm that went bust. These people had been told that they would be on our flight to Bristol. This did not happen as the flight was full.I felt really bad for these people they had been hanging around the Airport since 10:00am with no guarantee of getting a flight.I do not know wether they did get a flight as we took of at 13:15,but there was no other flights to Bristol that day. After seeing these poor people 2 1/2 to 3 hours transfer does not seem a lont to put up with.
We had an awful transfer on Friday 8th October from Arilas tothe airport. It started off okay but about 1 hr in to the journey there was this horrendous noise and someone realised that some cases had fallen out of the back of the coach. Some peoples cases were totally ruined. We then got over this trauma and then we were in Corfu Town when the driver went over something in the road and there was a another teribel noise and the driver stopped and he found that the suspension had gone on the coach which meant another coach had to be sent out to rescue us. The people on the Newcastle flight were left with only a few minutes to get their flight . Still we made it home in one piece.
