Title: Full Moon in Arillas
Post by: TerryW on April 08, 2008, 11:00:48 AM
I always think there is something magical about being on holiday when there is a full moon. After a nice day, a nice evening meal and then to sit on the balcony with a nice drink and watch the full moon over the sea is very special.

Alas, this year I will miss it.

If you want to check on the moon phase when you are in Arillas go here.....

The stars are also brighter when its a New Moon. We get so much light pollution in the UK that we don't  get clear views of the night skies, so when in Arillas you can lay down, look up to the sky, and try to find Uranus or any other planets and constellations.

Dear mr Terry,

thank you for the topic concerning the fullmoon and the diagrams!
You are trully a mine of information as it s mentioned already from a member of the forum!

Fullmoons of the summer are  my favor memory as the magic begins to act!
Even the faces of the people look diferently because of the special sparkling of the eyes.!

A huge natural  tortch made in heaven, directs your steps and suddenly there is no fear ,
you don t care about lights but what you really need is a moment of silence  to admire and just watch the
moonlight and it s magical reflections on the calm see, feeling on your face the warmth of the
breeze coming out of it like a breath! You can feel it on your face, you can "hear" the whispers
of a true fullmoon night!

Real Fullmoon  summer nights are rare believe me!

Fullmoon by itself wouldn t be enough for me.I would need the hall  scenery to be completed
with the shiny calm see inside ,the unique sound of the cicadas  the sparkling far lights of the
fishermen boats in the horizon ,the thought of how many stars the clear sky has while staring at it ,it s  velvet dark background
where an endless strange and unknown world is shown in shapes!!! Shapes named from us ..

I m always trying to 'catch" a "falling" star and make a wish and i always had the funny impression  that  the moon is smiling at me!
That is smiling to each one of us! The magical feeling of being watched from God.....

Somewhere there it is that you can feel yourself out of time and place ..It s yourself and the joy to leave and
enjoy life and  moments like these....

This is what real fullmoon is to  me!

Thank you once more for the patience!

Yours

Eleni

Eleni,

It's been said before and will be said again many times,

it is a joy to read what you have written because it comes from your heart and it gives real meaning to life.

Keep writing and I for one will keep smiling and thinking of Arillas, life and your thoughts.

I have been learning english for sixty years but there is no way that I can express myself in the way that you can.

Eleni, keep at it and make an old man happy.

Cheers, Mick.

But for first, the magic full moon from last year in September :)

I agree completely Terry.

Dear Eleni - like I said to you the other day - keep posting here or write a book. We would all buy it. Summer nights lit by the moon are truly magical and you capture it so well

For a moment I was actually there.

And Marika, your pictures are stunning. If we get another go at the posters, the one with the boat and tree is Jen's and my choice. It has an empty place on our wall waiting for it......

Thanks both of you for lifting my spirits.
Phil

Dear mrs Marika,

thank you so much for the beautiful pictures! They really took  off my thoughts
again!

Dear friends of Greece and Arillas,

Thank you so much for  the positive comments on my writings but i don t think that i could ever
write a book really! There are just simple thoughts what i m expressing ,on subjects
that irritate my soul and mind! Nothing more or less than that........

They come up spontaneously and no matter what time it is  i just print the words
that a foreign language allows me to use  to describe a specific feeling.....Then i catch
myself feeling much better than before!

A big "thanks" to all of you from the depth of my heart for the encouragement
the motives, the joy ,your love for us, your kindness and support the  warmth of your hearts !

Thank you so much for the inspiration and for making me feel so WELCOME in " your
world" !!!!

Yours

Eleni

We know first-hand what a truly lovely person Eleni is.  We stayed at her beautiful Apts a few years ago (Irene Villas) and unfortunately never got to meet her as she was looking after her mother that year.  At least two years later, we were dining in the Brouklis and we were approached by Eleni who somehow knew who we were (Dimitris?!) and came over for a chat and thanked us for being complimentary about her apts. (you couldn't possible NOT be!-Every need catered for) What a genuine lovely person she is. The only reason that we havent stayed again is that we love to be on the beach with a sea view but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her lovely property. Sorry that its not strictly 'On-topic' but it needed to be said!

Eleni, whilst I am reading I close my eyes and the strange thing is that I am not in Arillas, I  have been taken to the mainland, to Cape Sounion,(25yrs ago)
The temple and the moon casting its light over the bay.The sound of the fishermen beating the water to raise the fish  to the net, that gentle deep consistant drumming of the ocean. The passion of the people there. The peace, tranquility and the some what magical experience of being in a "very special place".
What happened to us is that we have been able to experience those  same feelings in Arillas.

And so have we Ang.

Others would not believe we could be like this.

Eleni's words, our passion
